Similar question id like someone to try and answer if possible,

In the darts, they ditched the walk on girls, 2 women wearing dresses. Dresses you'd wear in a night club, but still dresses. Last night in the darts they still had 4 cheer leaders on stage wearing skimpy hot pants and a tight matching top.

What is going on ?

That's a confused message they're sending out. To be sure.

I would ask why they're their in the first place? Just walk out, throw your fricking darts. Why do we need to have a woman walking on in front of them? Can they not find their own way there?

When the FIA put out a vote on soorting regs to be decided upon, who would you ask, Mercedes Ferrari and Renault. Or BMW Lamborghini and Citroen.

Asking potential new fans on the the grid girls is just like asking BMW lambo and Citroen. But pointless i feel

Because you're reducing the role of women to 'glamour' while the men are the celebrated main event. If you want glamour, get them to wear fancy costumes when they play darts. Maybe they could do victory dances every 180.

Also, have you ever been to live darts? It's not very glamourous. A thousand drunk blokes in fancy dress costume yelling, shouting and singing. Glamourous, it ain't!

So that job is now reserved only for men... How is this not a discrimination again?

I'll answer it for you Nathan - the FIA consulted with Porsche, Audi and Cosworth along with the current manufacturers because they're looking to attract them to the sport.

So if they were given a vote which decided the outcome , and if porsche cosworth and audi want to go v8's , ferrari mercedes and renault want to go v10's have a wild guess as to where it would end up.

Is Formula 1 right to stop using 'grid girls'?

Was the question.

If you asked, would you start watching? That is more of skewed question as it discounts peoples moral objections. Lots of people might never watch motorsport but can still think it's right that we don't objectify women.

Why don't you do your own poll on twitter or whatever and ask your friends the question you want to ask them and I'm sure you get a result that makes you happy.
dude.... would you start watching is EXACTLY the right question to ask to see if your actions had the desired result - enlarge the fan base of the sport, it is BILLION times more unskewed than asking - did we do the right thing dropping the grid girls...

I don't even...
The survey was done by Yougov. Not Liberty. Yougov took no action to remove grid girls. They are an independent survey group, dude.

I can't even...
the survey might have been done by Shaolin Monks for all I care, it still doesn't change the fact that they asked the "wrong" question, because the result of the poll will tell you with any degree of certainty absolutely nothing about whether that action of dropping the grid girls will increase the fan or viewership base of the sport, but it will give the F1M board some support for their actions, and then there are media relations departments in such companies, who may have been asked to get peoples opinion on the boards actions, and guess who they turn to is such cases

here is a question for you bonjon1979 - do you support free and uninfluenced career choice for women? and I will guess the answer - yes
so here is another question, why did you just support the possible reduction freedom of their choice? let me explain - F1 dropped the grid girls, which led to reduced demand for models at model agencies, which will lead to reduced income to the employed work force - there is no dispute about it, it exactly what happened

so the thing is not really about freedom for women to choose what they want to do, you simply want to have an effect on what you think is appropriate for them to do

They are trying to attract these teams to the sport so they are consulting with them which is a rebuttal of the point you made.

You are now trying to make this about something else.

Here's one for you, should people who attend and enjoy fox hunting be the only ones to get to decide on the laws governing it. If people from outside object, should their opinion be considered? We can take the argument into any part of society, just because a select group of people are fine with what they're doing that doesn't mean they have a monopoly on the morality of what they're doing. I'm sure there are enthusiastic dog fighters who feel the same way about people from outside sticking their nose into 'their' sport. Ultimately, the objectification of women is damaging to society as a whole and needs to be addressed. No sport can claim to be immune and above the concerns of society.
