AMuS is reporting that there might be another opening behind the bargeboard, but they're not sure about it.

If you look at this picture, you can see that the slots are indeed open, most likely under the floor:

Still think these are just 3 simple 'teeth' as Mercedes and then Red Bull have used (RB13 below):

I have to agree, I can't see what they would possibly gain by putting an intake there.

Can't be, they are not at the edge of the floor, but angled against the side pod, the floor extends further forward. I believe that they are sending air under the floor there, to help fill the space due to the high rake. That would also help clean up the flow around the side pod - since their flow concept is to send air downward into the side pods et al, they could cause flow issues in the area in front of the pods, so removing the air coming off the T-tray could ensure that it remains clean...

Wide, thin S-duct outlet.

Edit: Imagine how much air the aeroscreen would have pushed over that radiator inlet.

Overall cooling intake surface looks the same, they just moved more intake surface to the rollhoop inlet.

So the regs say the leading edge of the sidepods has to be angled back but you can see that half of the leading edge isn't angled back on the sf71h. How far could you push this?

Comparing it to the RB the teeth is somewhat under the floor while the ferrari have it above the floor. I think it has to be an intake for cooling or directing air somewhere. We need a more clear picture of that area to really know what they are trying to do.

That's just like Williams last year. You simply push your leading edge back a bit and you can have it straight again. No one is making you have it swept, the rules give you a room for design, no one makes you fill it up right to the borders. :)
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Just seeing first photos of the car now, a bit late.

I'm a huge Ferrari fan and my immediate reaction is "don't like it."

It looks big, bulky, very long, and they are definitely going back to an orangey red paint similar to what they did in 1997. Too much red! Never thought I'd say it. Needs to be broken up a bit with some white or black.

My favorite element is the side pods, which look very clever and are a clear design evolution of last year's groundbreaking design.

Look at the picture on this link. You can see that there is somewhat an intake below the letter "V" of the lenovo logo. So its probably an intake not "teeth".

seriously happy with the Ferrari.
some interesting stuff as far as i'm concerned

1 - first of all, all red, including the halo. looks fantastic. +1 already.
2 - dat rake. that's just incredible.
3 - those sidepods. amazing. very tiny opening
4 - interesting possibility for a lower extra intake near the floor
5 - mirror intakes - fantastic ! whether it's drag-reducing or an actual intake, great innovation
6 - nose and bargeboards are mclaren-inspired
7 - halo 'wing' on top
8 - winglets at the monocoque sides in front of ferrari logo steering air very cleanly to the floor
9 - front wing looks very detailed and interesting at the 'lower wings' at the corners meeting the fw end plates
10- lots of 'air combing' through the winglets, from the FW to the bargeboards to the side impact structures
11- another rear impact structure 'ducktail' serving as a monkey seat like alfa and merc
12- T-wing at the end of the dorsal fin

best looking ferrari since 2008 hands down. loving it. i hope it's blazingly fast.

also, whether there's an actual opening near those 3 teeth at the floor, i dunno, BUT one thing i must say - if you look at the amount of gamma/brightness upped to reveal something, then i get the impression there's been photoshopped there to make it darker as it's really really black right there whereas even the sidepod intakes or nowhere around the entire car is it that black - which would suggest they're hiding something there. it should not be that black there imho.

also, not seen a single clear image on the ferrari's back, curiously.

regarding on photoshop part. They definitely did it. It's same trick they've done with floor. All cuts are darkened out
