That rear part is incredibly tight. The packaging is amazing, it seems that they have done again a great job.

When viewed from above, it’s clear the mirrors are perfectly aligned with the upper sidepod inlet. The downwash the mirrors internal wing creates pushes more airflow into the sidepods for better cooling. Nothing like this has ever been seen before, there are no rules to prevent this, so Ferrari have a clever trick to make their sidepods work even better, using what are very literally wing mirrors!

In 2017 rules declared illegal that part of the floor, or i remember wrong?
Because the cut part of the floor was flexing. They fixed that later by bonding a sheet of metal to reinforce the area.

If its for drag reduction then why has no one done it before? And why is it only ferrari doing it this year? I mean cmon the answer is so simple.

I personally think the holes are to direct airflow to negate any lowering of pressure on the top of the Ferrari sidepods created by the upper sidepod vents "stealing airflow" and possibly creating lift due to the lowering of the pressure. Creating the small wing in the mirrors directing the airflow down towards the top of the sidepods and away from any disturbance created by the Halo

Rear is tight but Red Bull is even tihgter.
