If you zoom it you can see that they are connected with each other and with the floor.
They are stiff so it is enough little cut one or two milimetre to make it legal. They aren't holes.
Edit: when i look better must say, i don't know

My only thought is that they AREN'T legal today, but McLaren don't want to show other teams how to make them legal before Australia.
Yes i looked closely at the pictures on previous page. There aren't any small cuts that would make it one line.radosav wrote: β01 Mar 2018, 01:18If you zoom it you can see that they are connected with each other and with the floor.McMr[img wrote:[/img]ocks post_id=742817 time=1519859643 user_id=14381]
I once posted the question as to wether how these slots in the floor are legal. There are no small cuts which would make the contour one homogenous line. So how it is legal?

Could they do that with those connectors connecting floor and slots maybe?McMrocks wrote: β01 Mar 2018, 01:37Yes i looked closely at the pictures on previous page. McL32 had this to make it legal:

but there aren't any cuts this year. I guess they will add them later.
But at with the length of the cuts it seems very difficult to get it done. Aerodynamic forces at 300+ kph are enormous
They cannot connect. They aren't allowed to touch each other (even though they do, due to flexing, but FiA doesn't care). You need to able able to look through the slot from directly underneatch. So it isn't possible to transfer any vertical forces. The slots aim at forcing air down underneatch the floor which would create a vertical force which can't be transfered because of the rules. Apart from that little force which is created by friction when the two aluminium parts touch due to flexingradosav wrote: β01 Mar 2018, 01:46Could they do that with those connectors connecting floor and slots maybe?McMrocks wrote: β01 Mar 2018, 01:37Yes i looked closely at the pictures on previous page. Okay, this Marca site is not that reliable then. Thanks for the heads up.cyclon wrote: β01 Mar 2018, 10:12I am quite sure these holes where there from day 1 ...Godius wrote: β01 Mar 2018, 09:45They had cut a hole in the engine cover yesterday:

Nopes. You can see photos of day 1 in this thread, they were not present on day 1.cyclon wrote: β01 Mar 2018, 10:12I am quite sure these holes where there from day 1 ...Godius wrote: β01 Mar 2018, 09:45They had cut a hole in the engine cover yesterday:

Then they were present on day 2, probably before the overheating (pics with engineers cooling cooling those inlets)makecry wrote: β01 Mar 2018, 10:34Nopes.
