Apparently McLaren has been the team taking the initiative in trying to get an extra day of testing as reported by AMuS.
Tells you a lot about who needs as much running as possible.
Its no secret that Mclaren need to run as much as possible, but what do other team get spending the day and money for siting in the garage and posting snow photos on Instagram?
It’s all about bettering your position relative to the others...
If you are reasonably confident, why allow another competitor to sort out issues?
Mercedes, Ferrari, RedBull have all brought evolutions to this season. No big risks. McLaren has the biggest battle of all, together with TR of fitting an entire new power unit. Sauber and other small teams arguably need as much running too.
