Nothing but they could not make it work getting enough Hotel rooms for the team members. That's the whole reason the additional test day fell through.

Seems there's some live (allegedly) coverage from this channel but nothing even close to decent quality so don't get your hopes up. There have been others this week but they don't seem to be up yet for today, not sure if they will be.

Seems like they are still having issues with cooling...maybe it was more than a broken exhaust fication

Maybe not then :D although as I said there is no real reference and the track is apparently starting to dry.

It's all very strange.
I'm assuming it's a fault they have found that will need reworking in the next month. Which let's be honest is what preseason testing is for.

Apparently McLaren has been the team taking the initiative in trying to get an extra day of testing as reported by AMuS.

Tells you a lot about who needs as much running as possible.
Its no secret that Mclaren need to run as much as possible, but what do other team get spending the day and money for siting in the garage and posting snow photos on Instagram?
It’s all about bettering your position relative to the others...

If you are reasonably confident, why allow another competitor to sort out issues?

Mercedes, Ferrari, RedBull have all brought evolutions to this season. No big risks. McLaren has the biggest battle of all, together with TR of fitting an entire new power unit. Sauber and other small teams arguably need as much running too.
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

You've answered the question yourself, obviously that part of the exaust is overheating which lead to the broken exhaust clip. Since then, Mclaren have opened holes in the engine cover to cool that area down while the car is on the track and then when parked and pushed back they are cooling it with the fans.

This can be fixed ''easily'' for the 2nd test, either by using different heat resistant materials around the exhaust or opening more holes in the cover. For sure this will again be a temporary solution, but the main thing is to get the car on track as much as possible.

But then Perez goes 4th fastest on full wets.

I think we can safely say the times are meaningless.

Its testing, only times below 1.19 are a somewhat of a indicator
