McLaren MCL33

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Is there a Gurney on both Hot Air Exits?
Yes there appears to be. Looks like they are really, really struggling with cooling

It seems the wet weather is doing us a favor. Here you can see the flow on the sidepods with the dirt on it

Gurney flap on the cooling exits: Not sure if desperate or genius.

That's not neceassirly a cooling problem. Maybe the exhaust is not well isolated and/or too close to the bodywork/electronics/cables etc. (like RBR in 2014) and they need tim to solve the problem, in th factory.

I once posted the question as to wether how these slots in the floor are legal. There are no small cuts which would make the contour one homogenous line. So how it is legal?
My only thought is that they AREN'T legal today, but McLaren don't want to show other teams how to make them legal before Australia.
Everyone already knows how to make them legal, it's simply making a cut from the hole to the floors edge.
I think everybody knows the rule... the problem is, nobody can see the slit
