Mercedes are doing the 'look at us we can drive forever' act again.

I think the term is bulletproof and this time on a softer compound too.

Merc used mediums a lot last year, the year before, and the year before that iirc.
You would be correct about 2015 or 16 but last year they used the softer tires a lot.

They are touring around easily doing 1.20's on the mediums. Everyone had better hope to God that they can't use the softer compounds or that the Ferrari is super quick.
Why would Red Bull hope to god the Ferrari is quick

sorry couldn't resist

Just to point out that this time last year it was obvious that Ferrari were sandbagging such as suddenly slowing up at the back end of laps. So far not so much.

It was not sandbagging, they thought that in testing but latter on it was shown to be present even in quali laps. They just deployed everything at the beginning of straight and then had less power to the end where they harvested and thus loss speed which can be mistaken to purposedely slowing down. They called it clipping.

that was on the last 2 days on their qualy sims

and yes, it was sandbagging Vettel lifted before the finish line.
Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

Where do you get the lap times from, or are you just writing them down as they are reported on Autosport ect ?

"The McLaren MCL33 seems to have had the same black burn marks on the engine cover in one of their earlier runs today as they had last week. Last week they said it was because of a broken exhaust clip, but now the burn marks have returned. Are there bigger problems at McLaren? The British outfit has battery issues at the moment"

Are burn marks new or just the engine cover same as last week?
