Well, that was was posted after the race, by Jerste at GP Lounge. Funny:WhiteBlue wrote:The fuel and tyre strategies were a big surprise. Hamilton really lost this one in qualifying and for the first time I have heared Ron being cxritical about him this year.
Lewis Hamilton was the only driver to be asked by Bridgestone to adopt a three-stop strategy for the Turkish Grand Prix. The recommendation was made to the British driver's McLaren team after signs of delamination were detected inside his tyres - particularly the front right - after the practice and qualifying sessions at Istanbul Park. Hamilton suffered a tyre failure at the same circuit one year ago, but even a universal construction change for 2008 did not solve the problem that is caused by his unique driving style in the long turn-eight. "Nobody else has had a repetition of any of those problems this year, with the exception of Lewis"
Heikki outqualified him btw with more fuel on board.... I was able to outbrake him and pass and pull away. Perhaps if that had happened earlier we could have won the race or if I had done a better job in qualifying we probably would have won the race.
He doesn´t seem to have what it takes to be in F1.Nelson Piquet (15th): "I am satisfied with my performance today. My race started badly as I had to avoid the accident at the start which held me up. After that we just stuck to our strategy and tried to make up ground. The most important thing is that I finished the race and I have gained some more experience. I would have liked to finish further up, but I think that my weekend was determined during the qualifying session yesterday. I will make the most of what I have learned this weekend and put it to use at the next Grand Prix in Monaco, which will be an exciting race."
well i agree about first stint.sriraj1031 wrote:as assumed kimi did fade away in the race and his start was very bad hope people accept it he lost the race in the first stint behind kubica and well told u guys he ain't great in this track if kovy was alright he woulnt have been third too i guess [-o<
I have to disagree. Nothing is for certain in Formula 1. Saying that a particular driver would have won from pole, no doubt, is foolish at best. Besides, Lewis was tearing his tires up so bad they put him on a three stop strategy. I guess Alonso was worth more than people realize to Hammy. At least Heikki can set his car up.WhiteBlue wrote:Interesting info. Doesn't change the fact that Ron thought Hamilton could have taken pole with the low fuel load. From pole he obviously would not have been stuck behind Massa in the first laps and won the race.
I doubt Williams can afford Nelsinho and Nakajima crashing alot of the timedonskar wrote:Nelsinho needs to go away. Maybe he can take his money to Williams?
Nico deserves a better ride. Replacing Piquet?
I trust we can now let Massa at least finish the season before Vettel replaces him?
I keep hearing it from the ITV-F1 lot. So it may not be true. It's supposed to be speculated in a German Auto magazine. Auto-Bild, something like that =sCiro Pabón wrote:Kimi leaving at the end of the year? Why? Wow. Any links?
Well said, Donskar.
