Don't know if there has been any other teams to do a time attack on HS.
Finally, everyone knows that Red Bull is a joke and Max Verstappen is overrated.

Must have cut something off or really running on fumes
Oh.. :c
Time scrapped.
Just out of curiosity, does anybody have an idea what kind of advantage cutting the chicane gives in terms of lap time?
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

I'd always be happier if I can see a faster time, but at least they are within the realms of respectible.

Depends on how he cut it, there are sausage kerbs there that would require avoiding. Could have run wide left before the chicane and straight-lined it, or run wide right into the chicane and cut the corner. Impossible to tell.

Not that it's anything to go by, but McLaren and Ferrari were the only teams in the 17s. Cruising, sandbagging and testing programmes aside, I think it's pretty respectable.

I second that, very positive indeed! Also, Fernando was still able to do 93 laps, after all the time lost during the engine change. Would have been at least 150 if not for that.

The car is decently fast with its basic package, if the upgrade works and if team is able to fix the reliability issues by the time we reach Europe, then we are in for a good season!

Or they are bluffing while searching for some sponsor money.

I don't get this it will be ok by Australia with our new kit on
If they know it's better why didn't they bring that setup. What if they get to Australia and it's not better too late then because they can't go back to this set-up its got proven heat issues and it's not been that quick.
Because they use this test for correlation, so that they can make adjustements if something isn't right. It's all about having a good baseline. The car in Melbourne won't be a completely different concept. Just temper your expectations a bit, because they won't be winning any races this year. They just need a good year and if they even finish a race, they have done a good job.
Fixed that for you.

This is obviously a team in disarray.
Even taking into account the swap to a new PU, the whole of testing has been nothing short of a disaster.

If they even make the grid in Australia I'll be surprised.

So sad......

"Explain the ending to F1 in football terms"
"Hamilton was beating Verstappen 7-0, then the ref decided F%$& rules, next goal wins
while also sending off 4 Hamilton players to make it more interesting"

Be as sad for me as you like pal, doesn't change the fact that McLaren are looking like rank amateurs right at the moment.

One failure, yeah OK its just testing.

Failing as often as they have is a very, very bad sign.

Do you honestly think otherwise ?
