Yes I saw the video, but I didn't link it here because it might hurt someone. Very painful... poor guy. Maybe it is time to change something on pit stops?
It's a sport, things will happen. If we want to sanitize it anymore we might as well not race.

It is almost unheard of that pit crews get injured in modern F1 but accidents happen. Let's not over react and give LM or FIA anymore retarded ideas.

Not penalizing the team more for running over one of their employees is what's retarded!
Penalize them? What for? Would you penalize the Cowboys if one of their players got hurt? Should the FA or UEFA have penalised ManU when Zlatan got injured? Don't be silly.

Unless, a standard time for tyre change is set, something like 5 second minimum time to change tyres, the situation is going become nightmare. if the pit lane speed was revised to ensure safety, surely the stationery time can be set too. It would also cut down the cost of unnecessary innovation on those wheel guns, which is not something the industry outside would be interested.
This could be a solution, also some errors like Haas double retirement could be avoided in this way.
lets not go too far down the standerdization slope, variables needs to be part of the sport one accident in how many pitstops over the last 20 races? lets not over react :)
Unlike the drivers and footballers in football, the mechanics and the pit crews doesn't either command the remuneration or the opportunity. An accident like today's would most likely end that guy's career. Racing should happen on the track, between the drivers who get paid in millions and get opportunities to come back, not endangering the mechanics and pit crew.

The Hamilton comment on Verstappen in the greenroom, still rolling over on that one. Verstappen will eventually learn that you can't win races on the first lap.
Best bit was him feigning ignorance about it in the interview pit. "Was that at the restart? Can't remember it. Oh, that - yes, his fault". Priceless.

One solution for the pit stops could be a Indycar style pitcrew. Two guys per wheel, one who for the old tyre and one for the gun and the new tyre. That way the pit stops will be slower and way more safer.

Bottas was useless. Lewis would had had Vettel in a few laps.
Mark Webber and Suzi Wolff asked if Hamilton would have overtaken Vettel - both instantly answered "yes" together.

All in all a good weekend.

Bottas was useless. Lewis would had had Vettel in a few laps. It was on a platter and Bottas wasted it.
Partly, it was the strategists to blame, who kept both drivers on the same strategy, expecting Vettel to pit. Instead, one of the drivers should have been asked to push harder from the word go. Partly, it was the stupidity of Bottas not using his own racing brain to push. At one point, the difference was just 4.4 seconds and he let it grew by 7 seconds, waiting for a go ahead from the pit wall. Performances like this continue from Bottas, then Ricciardo would be signing the contract with Mercedes for sure.
Nico would have won it today. Ricciardo thrives in these come from behind environments. Bottas is just not enough driver to keep the seat, not when there's better talent out there. Bottas just doesn't have the "killer" instinct and when you lack a little on the talent front... well, you can't lack both.

Great race. Bottas should have won that one. He’s simply not good enough, the race was his to lose. Fantastic defending from Vettel, love seeing those kinds of performances. This win was NOT a gift and he earned this win, you can tell he relished it.

you can win races in first lap, if you're lucky, but not the championships, that is certain

Big difference between a sporting related injury and a potential life ending one. Google Mike Rich to see what happens when pit Lane isn't kept under control.

Well he was very underwhelming in his overtaking of back markers and couldn't offer much resistance when Seb passed him, so it remains a wild speculation.

Hrmph. I'm watching him now smiling away in his interview when he should be angry at himself! Sad fellow. He's satisfied with only beating Lewis! I won't feel it for him when he gets replaced.

The TR-Honda finished on the lead lap. What a massive boost this must be for all of the Honda employees that had to suffer through the McLaren era.

Maybe he needs to realize that he's not necessarily that lucky as well as the fact that you can't win a race on the first lap.
