I agree, his pace in the first and second stint were good and close to the limit I think. In his last stint however he seemed to be saving fuel compared to the competitor cars, check out the STR team thread for lap time analysis.Talisman wrote: ↑09 Apr 2018, 12:09Tost congratulated Pierre on amongst other things his fuel management. I think it’s reasonable to say that he did save fuel during the race although he was also helped by the VSC periods too.
Pierre talking about driving flat out could refer to driving to a delta.
I don’t think it likely that Honda have suddenly made their fuel consumption issues disappear overnight although I would be interested to find out if the ‘new’ TC and MGUH fitted for Bahrain were upgraded for performance or merely featured a short term fix for Gasly’s problem in Melbourne.

Honda never divulge performance figures, and only reveal when upgrades will appear at the race in question.

Anyone has seen this 'insider's information elsewhere?

the chassis needs to up its game as well so to be more than 3 tenths , from here to Canada iam sure the chassis will evolve and the rear will sharpengodlameroso wrote: ↑10 Apr 2018, 18:56That much power is easily worth 3 tenths. Which means they would have finished 40 seconds behind the leader instead of 60. If the team gains 1 second of lap time they can certainly win races.
Ahem. Poorly calculated figure.
