and luck came into it also. Ham had a punctured tyre on the last lap. if the race had not stopped due to time up he had not won.

he also was lucky with the place of his armco banger so close to the pits and the safety car.

And in other races luck has favoured other drivers.

Alonso had a similar accident in Monaco, was "lucky" enough not to break his suspension but still made a hash of it.

Hamilton came into his own in the middle of the race, by opening a massive lead over his nearest rivals. That was not luck, that was skill.

Too true. There is also the fact that Ferrari not did impose the wrong penalty. That was mistake of the stewards rather than Ferrari so if anything it is stewards who be paying compensation.

He had a puncture after the race (he was busy with the applause/celebrating and/or waving to fans and picked up debris from Rosbergs car apparently).
