The Porsche 919 has a 300KW KERS motor on the front axle.

Sure, but where do you put that on an F1 car? The only way I can see it working is if there are 2 small K's mounted outboard of the monocoque.
AWD F1 would be interesting. Lose some aero and allow TC and the 'road relevance' box is ticked.

My thoughts as well, we can re-design the front end of the cars, have it look more like the X1.



I would be ok with covering the front wheels and simplifying the front bodywork, that alone would reduce the rear wake of the cars significantly.

Inboard is far superior to any hub mounted device - no one would want that much Unsprung mass.

While I love the idea of AWD F1, 'tis but a pipe dream. An NA v12 is more likely, and that ain't gonna happen either...

That's pretty much what I was thinking. I'm not quite as talented as drawing as you though. All my sketches look like the Homer car...
The other option is to lose the diff altogether and mount two small K's where you've put the diff. Torque vectoring and all that jazz.

The Audi one shown above looks like it would fit. The problem is what to do with the suspension - where do the torsion bars go, for example.

Regarding all-wheel KERS, it would work best if they had a standard KERS system, front and rear. Then they wouldn't have to limit the energy that could be recovered.
