here's a map picturing the harbour area indicating the likely track: https://twitter.com/kenrussellmiami/sta ... 92/photo/1

Layout looks bit like Baku, lots of 90° corners, long straights and two hairpins. Track leading twice over the bridge looks appealing though. Liberty seems to be serious about Miami, it's already on the temporary season calendar of 2019.
There's absolutely zero chance the circuit looks like that. For one, that hairpin doesn't exist in real life, they would have to demolish a 2 meter concrete divider and re-pave it. Also you're completely closing off access to Bayside.
There is a tunnel to access

but i like this better

There is no tunnel for bayside, there is only a tunnel for the port. That layout is too narrow and not enough run off area(the thing that kills most street circuits) crossing bayside around the back isn't possible any more, they would literally have to re-pave a lot of road. I tried to drive back there, but there is a park that would need to be ripped up and re-paved.

Cool I can see the race from my apartment provided they have it near the port. Funny I mentioned having a race here last year I think. I mentioned the port of Miami as a good location, if the race ends up there...
Since you are located so close. What do you think about the bridge section? That seems like the most logical overtake area especially if it ends in a chicane, but it looks pretty tight. Substract at least one lane for fencing and a walkway for personell movements, it seems you have awfully little room left to do overtaking. Is that right or is it wider than I think?

I think you can have the catch fencing right on top of the existing 1.2m tall barrier, the bridge is 5 lanes wide or 13 meters across in both directions. That barrier is designed to stop trucks which weigh a lot more than F1 cars, but it's plenty wide that cars can easily go 3 wide, more than that is playing with fire.

Part of the reason I'm leaning towards this layout is that the road largely meets the requirements for run off and width. Some parts are tight, but none are Baku tight.

Here's how wide the bridge is for reference

And we have an F1 sized car in the middle

would need some serious fencing work on the side to prevent cars getting launched and then ending up in the waters or outside of the track.....

nevertheless, i think it could be interesting. but would it be the 2nd race in a season in the states, or would it replace COTA?

Aren't those roads pretty bad as well? Last time I was there it was a tad bumpy.

Much better recently, they're finishing up some construction to make it even better. There is one bump on the bridge going to the port, and one on the way back that may need to be smoothed over, but since they're going to put the F1 pavement it should be ok. I just drove the track today, well at least around the layout I proposed, they're doing construction around the overpass, I went scouting around, actually escorted by a very nice police officer. It honestly has some potential, the corners are deceptively quick around the port, the road is mostly pretty wide.

In formula one terms, 91.583% chance that there will be a Miami GP in 2019...
Sorry, I do not have any evidence to support my statement...

My rendition, adds some higher speed corners before braking points to allow for more overtaking spots. Also the changeover for the bridge is cleared up by using the normal traffic route. again, alowing cars to chase closer than a tight U turn would. Also a bit more scenic track with cars driving through the skyline. And uses the empty parking lots as areas for grandstands.

Google says 7km, 5.7 if you cut the extra bits at the bottom left
