Business as usual. Redbull running closer to 100% than Ferrari or Mercedes. I think Ferrari are struggling with setup, which is then compounded by the fact that the engine has been in reverse.

As usual come qualifying it will tighten right up, but I think it’ll be a head to head between Mercedes and Ferrari, with redbull nipping at their heels.

Fun prediction:

2. Stroll
3. Max
4. Magnussen
5. Vandoorne
6. Sirotkin
7. Ericsson
8. Hartley

Fantasy 2019 WDC - Grosjean (Max and Magnussen tie for 2nd). :D

What happened to Perez?
Some local stole his car
Yeah. Heard they're now running a taxi service with it.

Hamilton second fastest, even though on the slower tyre?
Yep, Lewis was on the ultras and was only 0.088 of Max who was on the Hypers.
You are always ready to to talk Max down (and sure Lewis will get pole here, don’t you worry) but did you then also see that in FP2 max’ Final quick lap on the Supersoft was within a tenth of a second of Lewis fastest time (fastest of FP2 at that time) which was also set on the supersoft. I think you noticed, you keep an eagle eye out.

13:18 Very quick from Hamilton - he does a 1m13.347s, which is a full 1.035s ahead of Raikkonen's previous benchmark.
13:20 Max Verstappen splits the Mercedes to go second on supersofts, but he's still 0.365s behind Hamilton - who's on an even better lap.
That’ll do nicely... 👊 Lewis hammers in a hot one to go P1 with a 1:13.347! Valtteri slots into P2. Worth the wait!
13:21 Hamilton finds three tenths to go faster still with a 1m13.031s. Bottas improves at the same time to reclaim second, but it's still 0.5s off Hamilton.
All times reported after that are hypersofts, they don't even mention another run by max.

Is there any rule about both cars having to have identical gear ratios?

Vettel 10km/h more than Kimi (maybe a tow, different RW downforce levels or engine mode) but also Leclerc did 333km/h ...

It is so unbelievably close in race pace among all the cars, it's just so freaking close I can't believe how close it is between teams 4-10 and how close it is between teams 1-3. I've never seen anything like this.

Even more the fact that a two stop is guaranteed, no way a one stop is possible. Plus it's Canada, someone always crashes in Canada. It's going to be a crazy race for sure, either that or the teams are so well matched that they finish where they qualify because it's so close that no one can do anything.

Watch FP2 when you get home, I did the same. I hoped for a response like, that is indeed true, so If we can say anything based on fp they still are very close. Ricci later (when RB finally got his car running) was 0,7 seconds of the earlier pace by ham and Max on supersoft (on his own last supersoft lap) and on hypers 0,4.

When you want to highlight every minute detail (and why not, it is what we do here) you have to look at everything, not only the facts that suit you.

As do I. I was wondering why immediately the fact who was faster needed to get put in perspective, whilst in FP2 Max and Lewis where still very close (but now on the same tire) got no mention at all. Dan has already answered he had not seen FP2 yet so I am sure he can answer himself when he gets the chance to.

Hey guys, any news on what happened with Dan's car ?

All I can find is that it was "an electrical problem" that kept him in the pits.
Anyone know if it's related to the problems he had in Monaco ?

Thanks
