Definitely softs on his 3rd timed lap so tyres past their best at that stage but it was his best lap of the second session, first two flying laps were scrappy so more to come tomorrow.
Yep definitely on softs. I watched in horror as the Mercedes pace in FP1 was ominous... but he had a few scruffy laps but still ultimately ended up under 2 tenths behind. I’m calling a Mercedes pole, but by a slimmer margin that in Austria.
Yes Vettel started his long run on 7 laps old Mediums and Hamilton did his first one on Softs but I don't know how old these were.
I don't know what Sky is talking about? Mercedes at no times was 7 tenths faster on race pace. Vettel was as fast as Hamilton on 17 laps old Mediums whereas Hamilton was on 12 laps old Softs and also in general Vettel was at least matching Hamilton.
Thanks for sharing! I was disappointed when they said it tbh. They said Hamilton’s average lap time was a 1:33.1, raikkonens a 1:33.8 and Bottas a 1:33.4. Was that just one random lap they looked at? Ricciardo was in the 34’s and they didn’t mention Vettel due to tyre discrepancyLM10 wrote: ↑06 Jul 2018, 17:52I don't know what Sky is talking about? Maybe Mercedes is sandbagging and Sky knows every detail, I don't know.![]()
There are also two more things to add:
The problem with SKY was, the driver was number 44, the car a mercedes, the place Silverstone.LM10 wrote: ↑06 Jul 2018, 17:52I don't know what Sky is talking about?
