It would be nice to see if Ferrari and Red Bull could go to the end with 1 pitstop or if they had to do 2 (without SC) or if there was a tire blowout.
RIC already pitted with RBR expecting a Raikkonen stop, this means they expected the Ferrari tyres to go

Yeah, Vettel deliberately took out Bottas (not championship contender) in France. Very "smart" thinking, Toto.

It's the usual "war" over the media. Mercedes does it every year. Now they are on the back foot and that's why the method has changed. Nothing special and I don't know why anyone would be surprised about that.

BUT which would you prefer to watch? a procession or THIS??????
I personally prefer to see the best driver in the best car win, not bumper cars and randomness!
Great. You enjoyed that since 2014. It was quite boring for me honestly... This year is much better no matter who wins the Championship
I can't disagree more, to me it seems we've had a lot more "poor driving" incidents then before, and the season isn't even half over yet.

This was not 'bumper cars and randomness' This was (probably) the best drivers in the world today showing off their cars and skills.
Look at the coverage Merc and Ferrari had, and the emotional attachment.
You do not get that with a win from pole. This is what everyone wants. its a brilliant afternoon.
I would have been happy with Lewis driving off into the distance, but then it would not compare to this.

I really hate incompetent drivers that obviously try to be heros with DRS in turn 1 aka Eriksson and poor midfield driving a la Grosjean that bring out random and useless safety cars.In my opinion i would rather see Vettel win from the lead and at least get a chance to see the strategy unfold and drivers try to go flat out and close gaps...Fake drama with SC, meh...

That was a really a great race, Kimi did an error and was punished. Lewis did a wonderful comeback and scored even more than I expected, overall I think that Mercedes was the best car today with Mediums.

I didn't like Hamilton's words on podium, I can understand adrenaline but it was a bit... poor. I don't think RAI did it on purpose, he also blocked front right.

Anyway Genè said on Italian SKY that they were expecting to have some problems with front tyres, because FER cars use a little more front tyres, while MER rear ones.

I think this race was probably Mercedes 1-2 then if no SC. (assuming RAI stayed behind HAM and didn't crash into him)
Even if Vettel managed to keep ahead of Bottas and Hamilton, he would have to pit 1 more time and lose it.
Bottas was quite a bit slower than HAM though, so maybe VET could pull of a 2nd place.
Though I'm not sure Ferrari would pit without SC. RBR may have been expecting RAI to pit, but that is not proof.
Would have been fun to see a tire blowout on Vettel though...

Me too. We're having a discussion about tire strategy here, but we're drowned out by fan-yells.

So no mistakes allowed? I'm going to find AI racing even more boring in the future. If you look at this season, then you will noticed that other drivers (Vettel, Raikkonen, and Bottas) have upped their game.

A programmed drive anyway. Yes, he did his job, bur Kimi and Lewis did a better job

Running into each other like this doesn't make them look that great. And to be clear I'm not talking about Kimi and Lewis.

Are you a driver's fan or a F! fan?
If you are a driver fan thats fine, we need driver fans, but you kook for something different to what I do.
IMO, F1 is going the same way as NASCAR did back in the 90's, dumbing down for the lowest brow members of society. And that's the exact reason why I stopped watching it.
