Rules are rules.Phil wrote: ↑22 Jul 2018, 17:01I get that many are asking for Hamilton's head for not entering the pits - arguably, this split second decision of staying out won him the race. But regardless who it is, do we really want the FIA to intervene/change race results on something that didn't cause any harm to anyone?
Who said anything about Vettel being faster?Restomaniac wrote: ↑22 Jul 2018, 16:59Team orders, are team orders, are team orders. If Vettel was so much faster he should have just passed Raikkonen surely?GrayGreat wrote: ↑22 Jul 2018, 16:55Because Raikkonen was supposed to be on a 2 stop strategy. That's why he spent as many laps in front of Vettel as he did. It was only after he started hurting Vettel's tires (by being in Raikkonen's dirty air) that hey decided to let Vettel go. Chance of rain made Ferrari keep Raikkonen out. I don't know which race you were watching if you did not know all this. If it was clear team orders, Raikkonen would not have spent a single lap in front of Vettel. And yes, let's just conveniently forget Austria.Restomaniac wrote: ↑22 Jul 2018, 16:42Farrari’s team orders earlier made Raikkonen give Vettel the place.
Yes. Such things shouldn't matter at all.Phil wrote: ↑22 Jul 2018, 17:01I get that many are asking for Hamilton's head for not entering the pits - arguably, this split second decision of staying out won him the race. Sometimes penalties are for something that could hurt someone. And that's good. But I agree with you.Phil wrote: ↑22 Jul 2018, 17:01I get that many are asking for Hamilton's head for not entering the pits - arguably, this split second decision of staying out won him the race. Then why the order for Raikkonen to let Vettel go?GrayGreat wrote: ↑22 Jul 2018, 17:03Who said anything about Vettel being faster?Restomaniac wrote: ↑22 Jul 2018, 16:59Team orders, are team orders, are team orders. A few km/h above speed limit in the pitlane does not harm anyone either.LM10 wrote: ↑22 Jul 2018, 17:02Rules are rules.Phil wrote: ↑22 Jul 2018, 17:01I get that many are asking for Hamilton's head for not entering the pits - arguably, this split second decision of staying out won him the race. So what makes your comment better than those of yesterday. We expect more from you RestomaniacRestomaniac wrote:Vettel beating his steering wheel and then kicking stones like a toddler throwing a tantrum. Like Hamilton yesterday almost crying by the side of his car.
That’s the point. It’s team orders that you chose not to mention it but then jumped on Mercedes for team orders. That’s called being selective.
To tell the truth I think both situations were pathetic. I’m not being hypocritical. I would have happily commented but I’m on holiday and have parked my backside at a pub with WIFI to watch the race.JonoNic wrote: ↑22 Jul 2018, 17:08So what makes your comment better than those of yesterday.
