Three cars per team isn't a problem if the underlying points/prize money system is overhauled. The simplest idea being that the teams only get points from two cars towards the constructor's title, but the drivers each get points for their championships. Thus the teams get the same money as today.

Better would be points all the way down the grid, not just the top places with "points = £" at the end of the season. If a team can't afford three cars then its points are adjusted 3/2. Of course, three cars gives better odds of having point paying finishes which does give an advantage for the three car teams over the two car teams. Put a cap on prize money, however, so that the top teams don't get to take it all - say, £50million allowed from prizes. That gives a better spread of money to the teams.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

@Sierra117, apologies for the harsh tone. It wasn't directed at you... I was a bit fired up, after hearing some arguments on the C4 broadcast and it kind of got me heated up a little. No offense was intended. :oops:

You're out of your mind right? So a 4 time or 5 time world champion after this season will have to make way for a kid who hasn't proven anything yet regarding F1 besides some strong races with FI??

What Merc should have done last month, is bought FI and made it their B-team. Then Ocon would have been safe. It would have been a good platform as well for the next generation Merc talents, but they didn't, so daddy Stroll could do all what he wanted to do and thus Ocon loses out.

Well, Bottas just used the US (or was it the HS?) and last corner he almost went into orbit from the way the footage showed it 😂😂

On the quali sims, the RedBull is well off the pace of Ferrari and Mercedes who appear to be fairly neck and neck.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

You mean Hamilton Vettel and Raikkonen, Bottas is nowhere. Obviously they'll turn up their engines tomorrow, so the gap may be even greater.

Bottas will have a lost a bit of time with his sight-seeing tour in the last corner but that is his problem. With the engines in full on quali-mode, the Ferrari and Mercedes will still be reasonably close although I could see Kimi taking pole. He looks to be very happy around the track so far today...
