Where did you read that they used the 2.0?
Franz Tost said so during the FP live coverage on German TV. The performance was pretty poor yesterday though, especially during the longruns, so they need quite a big step, not only from the engine side.
Hartley said it in an interview yesterday and Franz Tost in an interview on N-TV in front of the camera.
Translated: But there is also some encouragement for Toro Rosso: Firstly, the team goes for the first time in a long time again without penalty in a qualifying, which you want to take good advantage of, on the other hand was still the old Spec-2 engine from Honda installed. Tomorrow should then be the latest expansion [of the engine] used.
Excuse me @ Search. I didn't saw your answer, because I was posting the same in the mean time.search wrote: ↑10 Nov 2018, 13:01Franz Tost said so during the FP live coverage on German TV. Usually the team has quite a good pedigree in the rain, but no idea how the drivers would cope. Or what the drivability of the new engine is like
I haven't seen his laps, but as he set his fastest time on the first run in Q3 (with used tires), he probably just made a mistake in the 2nd one (which was three tenths slower, with new tires)bigblue wrote: ↑10 Nov 2018, 21:01Gasly's quali times, 1:09.046, 1:08.616, 1:09.029. Bit weird Q3 was noticeably slower, conditions, a mistake, something else ?
I think Hartley lost his seat already or maybe keep going as a surprise. But your comment assume it it is for sure new aero package working well. But according to Hartley's comment it just changes cars behaviour let Hartley to be more comfortable and not good for Gasly style. If it would be faster as a package I think Gasly also would use it
They're actually used to this Friday PU+gearbox. Wouldn't want a practice shunt to ruin a race engine.
