I was able to put a couple of updates on the car, whilst maintaining the same sort of efficiency.
The last iterations indicated an increase of around 25% on both drag and downforce.
The current version is again untested, as earlier designs were either illegal or not competitive enough.
The latest tested version was legal, but lacked 5% cooling and CoP was too near to the rear, so an untested version should probably at least get the same sort of values if not better.
For your viewing pleasure:
Changes include:
- Rounded off edges of the floor
- Updated front wing design
- Tail for reduced drag
- Exhaust has more realistic path to engine
- Updated rear wing design, offset slightly to the front of the car to try and balance CoP forwards.
- New mirror design.
- Moved throat of the diffuser slightly more to the front, as there was still room for it due to bad initial design.
Not included:
- Debatable suspension cover.
- Non-debatable version of said cover.
- Smooth transition from new mid-section to footbox.
- Front winglets (due to front quarterpanel design it mostly induces drag)
- New quarterpanel designs, as those failed miserably.
- Sidepods with integrated cooling (could be interesting, but I struggle to get a volume flow >0.5m/s per side)
- Updated middle section of the car, which gives the same sort of drag, but gives a lower lift value, which increases CoP more towards the front.(did not comply with cockpit template)
