McLaren MCL34

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

If you look at it closely, a lot of elements look like last year's elements on steroids.

What is that on the underside of the RW - righthand side ??
Seems like a small winglet under the mainplate.

Legal ? What's it's purpose ?

i don't think it is, because if you watch the autosport car analysis where these stills were taken from you can clearly see it as the camera pans round at arpound 4:50

Just consider, if it was a winglet, don't you think the person in the video analyzing the car would bring up such a radical thing?

Well I agree with your point, but I’ve never seen a shadow act like that before

So because someone doesn't mention something it doesn't exist? Strange logic :wtf:

Check the official video around 24-25 s. A reflection doesn't block a gap and doesn't have its own reflection.

No, it was just a sanity check. The guy is standing a few feets away, analyzing the technical aspects of the car. Pointing out details and new stuff, I think he would notice. But its just a sanity check..

Your new video just reaffirms that it is a reflection, at least to me. And now kfrantzios picture of the back makes it even more obvious.

We have these reflection issues every year, and 99% of the time it is a reflection, just as this time.

But then again... imightbewrong
