Yep, definitely a new floor, they’ll probably back to back it soon. The bardge board elements are usually attached to the floor so it will be interesting seeing any updates in that area

Why does the box say VAN on it. Old pic?
Finally, everyone knows that Red Bull is a joke and Max Verstappen is overrated.

Good to see a decent lap time on the C2 tyre- obviously we don’t know fuel or anything but nonetheless it’s nice that McLaren are running okay on the harder tyres when previous years they’ve been slow and on softer tyres.

Good for Lando to bank some laps today as well.

Lets see if Lando will do a long run this afternoon, I'm curious to see a 15-20 lap stint from him as well

Yesterday Sainz did a longer run in the afternoon, after car turned off, and he seemed slow (1:24s). I think it was about 30ish laps with 2 "pitstops". It's probably where "McLaren are slow" stories came from. So far their programmes look similar so we may see the same longer run by Lando in the afternoon.

I may be remembering wrong so my apologies if so.

So far, once again, fastest in most speed traps. (This time SC1 and SC3 ones)

Well, it's possible that the car might be not as quick as they expected, but in my opinion it's most important that the fundamental flaw has been fixed. McLaren has always been great with development during the year and the more changes you introduce, the bigger the chance is that you will make some mistakes. People are always expecting miracles, but miracles don't happen in F1. Maybe Key can take some Red Bull tricks with him.

Agreed. I am quite surprised with the way most pundits dismissed McLaren, especially if it is true that they had a fundamental issue with the car. If you have a fundamental issue, I am assuming resolving it immediately unlocks decent amount of potential, and then with improved integration of Renault engine and supposed Renault gains over the winter, it should mean McLaren can be a decent midfield team, but most pundits dismiss McLaren like a bottom runner with glory runs.

Yeah, simply because they run the C4 tire. I guess that isn't allowed if you're McLaren, but it's perfectly fine if you're Toro Rosso or Haas. I don't see the point in glory runs anyway, what's the point of making you good look and failing in Melbourne, doesn't that make you look foolish. Or do they actually believe sponsors will pay you millions, because you're second on the first day of testing. McLaren can't do much good these days.
