It looks like they are testing different tire management strategies.

The first two are very similar, cool down, fast laps to heat up, then pace, pace, pace, let it coll of, try to attack, let it cool of, pace pace... The third, is bit different on the begininig.

No, it's Rosanna Tennant
No, in the aftershow it was Rachel Brookes, Karun and Crofty.

Rosanna works for F1TV, not Sky.
Rosanna was working as Sky's pitlane reporter yesterday afternoon.
F1TV and Sky are collaborating during the tests, she's not working for Sky.

Anyway, let's stop this, here's a screencap from the aftershow.

Sorry, but you are wrong - VET used a softer tire for his time yesterday. Merc was on the new Medium.
Both, Vettel and Hamilton used C3 yesterday for their fastest laps. Ferrari as well as Mercedes have not used the softer C4 and C5 yet.
Neither Hamilton, nor Bottas used C3 yesterday. They both set their fastest times with C2.

Thank you, that's what I remembered too. Merc was one step harder than Ferrari yesterday.

Looking at today's times, one should hope that Ferrari is running full race load and Mercedes is running with two stint load. Every 5kg of fuel is worth 2 tenths (based on Allison's statement on the reason they choose not to run 110kg fuel load). Ferrari is adrift by 2 seconds on each of those stints should mean, they are carrying 50kg more fuel than Mercedes OR running more conservative power modes than Mercedes for equal load.

Here is yesterday's stint. Shows similar differences, but Hamilton on C2 and Vettel on C3.

I've read some analysis here that says Mercedes and redbull went different way from Ferrari and if mercedes and redbull's ways are wrong it is hard for them to turn Ferrari's way. I think there is a problem with that. What is it ? For me; it is Toro Rosso which uses Redbull's ex chassis' rear part. Maybe Redbull were aware of both style and wanted to try both. Redbull's rear part looks like same as last year's redbull, just more thight.

Just my idea of what are they doing. By "management pace" I mean the pace when they don't need to push and just control the race if they are in front... It's more like different approaches to tire management testing than race simulation.

Were they? As far as i remember, the conclusion was that Ferrari looked fast and that Haas was best of the rest. Turned out to be spot on, once you disregard that Melbourne is anything but a conclusive track.
last year everybody was saying(I guess including you. You just don't remember) that Merc was so much ahead of Ferrari(because of race sims), and Melbourne confirmed that but that was a different story on other tracks.

Ferrari had new floor for bahrain which was a major upgrade.
