You're kidding, right sweetheart? You're trolling, surely?
Well, Paddy Lowe has gone, and he's gone because of the performance of the car, the debacle in getting it put together and the fact that he obviously cannot read the regulation book. Every casual observer from the media to those in other teams were questioning Williams's legality right from the first shots of the car. The guy is simply not a Technical Director and not what Williams desperately needed. They needed an Adrian Newey, a James Allison, a James Key or a Mike Gascoyne with a clear track record of designing and being responsible for a car from top to bottom and finding their way through the regulation book. Lowe is absolutely none of those things.
You'll see it when the car is changed to pass scrutineering in Australia. Why would new technical directives need to be issued when Paddy Lowe and Williams can't even read what is there in the first place?
Just for the record. I like Keys but I'm reserving the right to comment on how good he is until after a couple of years with McLaren. He might have been sheltered at STR.munudeges wrote: ↑06 Mar 2019, 23:01Well, Paddy Lowe has gone, and he's gone because of the performance of the car, the debacle in getting it put together and the fact that he obviously cannot read the regulation book. Is there any more head burying we want to do here?
Asking for evidence to back up assertions is trolling? Sorry, you make a sweeping statement, you need to support it.
It wasn’t true last year. Even now he isn’t sacked, it’s a leave of absence.munudeges wrote: ↑06 Mar 2019, 23:01Well, Paddy Lowe has gone, and he's gone because of the performance of the car, the debacle in getting it put together and the fact that he obviously cannot read the regulation book. You keep telling yourself that sweetheart. They all say that, and what's even more sad than Williams's current plight is this kind of cognitive dissonance.
He was both, his track record is clear and he single handedly got Caterham off the ground effectively from his bedroom. That's what a Technical Director is.Gascoyne was far more of a manager than a designer.
I have absolutely no idea. Some people manage to pull the wool over the eyes of many, Pat Fry being another. The Technical Direction at Mercedes is the work of James Allison and Geoff Willis and their CVs speak for themselves. The same people at Williams who got fooled by Lowe are the same people who thought Sam Michael was a TD, year after year, and also thought Pat Symonds was as well.
I remember when they hired Sam Michael. I was like, wtf. It's so frustrating and sad to see this team suffering under such bad personnel calls. Smh.munudeges wrote: ↑07 Mar 2019, 01:18I have absolutely no idea. Some people manage to pull the wool over the eyes of many, Pat Fry being another. Uhhh James Alisson came to Mercedes after Lowe left... started there early 2017 (car already on track).munudeges wrote: ↑07 Mar 2019, 01:18I have absolutely no idea. That was the end right there. Even Claire isn't silly enough to make an off-the-cuff comment like that in public. It was deliberate and summed up what they thought about what had gone on and what they thought of him.
