Whelp.. Looks like the Renault move was a bad choice for Ricciardo. At least he gets more money.
Don't forget the company car he gets, a shinny new Twingo
Actually if i saw correctly, he has a Clio RS for transporting himself, which is one of the best cars in its segment, so i dont get the sarcasm, or were you reffering to Twizy which he gets in the promo video?
If i would get the money to start my own F1 team, i would revive Arrows

It remains to be seen how closely the cars can follow one another, and the effect of DRS.

I'm not sure of the former, but I suspect DRS will be too effective this year. For this track it will mean we actually get some passes, but for places to come (China, Bahrain), it will mean cars are completely defenseless.

Am I correct in thinking there are 3 DRS zones today?

I have the same concern in regards to DRS, it may end up been too effective... Which I guess can be regulated by reducing the length of the DRS zones if need.

There are 3 DRS Zones today, in the main straight (turn 16 to turn 1) that continues after the first chicane between turns 2 and 3 and an small one towards the end of the lap between turn 12 and 13.

2019 DRS is quite a lot more effective.

Telemetry from yesterday quali suggests that the increased drag and weight were really hammering the 2019 cars. On non-DRS straight 2019 could be 10km/h slower than 2018, and 2018 was already quite slow on straights, but on DRS straights they can reach about the same top speed as 2018.

HAAS pit stop and nose change practice. Incredible the level of detail and precision that goes just into setting up the pit area. When the teams vacate the pit wall even the stools are all perfectly oriented. ImageImageImageImageImage

Godspeed everyone! 2019 is off!
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

Sky just ignored a radio message by the race leader, Bottas, just because they were doing an interview with Zak Brown.
This is getting out of hand.

Sainz's car catches on fire within the first 10 laps of the season? It is heartbreaking, McLaren can't catch a break.

A neat consequence of the ban on endplate louvers is that now it's way more common to see the endplate vortexes. I see them all the time now.

Brown suggested it was a MGU-K failure.
