Personally I'm not a big fan of rain races or rain qualy. I want to see the fastest cars in the world go fast, not slide around. I watch Hav-A-Tampa late models for my slide addiction fix. But it is cool to see the sirflow around the car when it rains, I just don't like the tip-toe slowness.

Probably it is not wings but ride hight that matters. If RH is low aquaplaning of the plank may be expected.

I think it was 2004 when Schumi went spinning in De La Roggia on 1st lap?

correction: it was damp in 2004

PS: note Shoey cutting the 1st turn, gaining a position and then giving several positions back at curva grande.

CONGRATS TO VETTEL AND STR!

And the wet really shakes up the order.

Actually, to the guy that said that he dis-likes wet quali/races. If it is dry tomorrow, we will see the best race of the season, because Monza is FAST and with the top guys so deep in the field, there will be passing the whole race!

Don't cry cause Hamilton is 15th, and Kimi is 14th. Instead, realize that they are the 600lb gorillas at the rear of the pack, and should shine more brilliant than if they were starting 1-2, and fuel level being what picks the winner.

Monza '08 has already made history, and the race hasn't even started yet!

I am more excited about this race than any this season. I truly feel sad for those that are too stuck on their favorite driver to miss the larger perspective.

If anyone has a DVR, I suggest this will be THE one to get this season!

Very interesting qualifying in the wet. It really looks like McLaren, Ferrari and BMW are on a totally dry setup. Theissen said that they expect only 40% rain probability tomorrow.

Berger said that they are prepared for a dry race which could mean that both Vettel and Bourdais could be in the high poionts. I'm surprised that Nico managed so well in the Williams. In free practise on Friday they were not fast. They could have a wet set up.

Vettel did a very solid job there in all three Qs. The guy is an asset for Red Bull and it hurts Toro Ross big time to loose him. He was over the moon when he came on the team radio. This must be the first ever pole position for the ex Minardi people in the team as well. For Vettel to become the youngest pole position holder ever in F1 bodes well for his future carreer. I hope to see him rise and sit in a BMW or Ferrari fighting for victories and championships in some years.

If RBR gets a better engine supplier, he may not need to change teams to fight for victories and championships.

Just imagine what RBR's budget is going to increase by when Red Bull isn't paying for STR any more.

Bingo. Not only did he give the standing back, he put himself at a significant disadvantage for the immediate future.

Tomorrows race will be the best race in about god knows how long, probably since Nurburgring last year imo.

STR are a true F1 team, they went thru the bad times when they were Minardi, they are only one of about 3 or 4 true F1 teams out there, with Williams, Force India and id probably say BMW Sauber.

Vettel has now showed his class... And added a good couple of million to his stock value.

With STR in P1 and P4, and Webber in P3, im shure that if there is rain, there could be a Red Bull 123 on the cards.

But... Ferarri and Renault have been out shone by their "customers";

Ferarri are P6 and P14 - STR P1 and P4 and with FIF1 in P12 and P20
Renault are P8 and P17 - Red Bull are in P3 and P13

I am really looking forward to tomorrow, even if i have to watch it recorded, just have to make shure that i dont turn on the radio and or TV at work tomorrow as that will spoin lt for me.

If there will not big difference between 2 reds and 1 silver compared to quali

Agreed it will be an awesome race, I'm obviously disappointed about lewis' problems, AND the fact that Massa wasn't down and out of Q2 allong with him & Kimi (How great a fight would THAT have been tomorrow?!) BUT, Lewis & Kimi, (hopefully) comming through the field in cars with optimum fuel - should be a blinding race.

Full credit to Massa he kept his head whilst all others around him were loosing theirs (like lewis who couldn't get the time even when Massa could in on the same track conditions at the same time.) Oh and congrats to vettel (and Webber)!

Was Massa on the intermediate tyre at that point in Q2, or the full on Wet tyre?

Massa was on full-wet tyres the whole 2nd session. I am almost sure that Hamilton was the only driver to change to intermediate tyres (during 2nd qualifying session.) Welcome to the Forum.

Interesting race order, drivers usually on the front few rows are well back and will try charging through the field. Will be worth watching ... just for that drama.
