Very nice Leclerc, awesome!

But once again horrible strategical job from Ferrari to put Vettel in traffic in Q2 and thus let him have just one shot in Q3.

He's a future world champion, maybe this year. Ferrari will not protect Vettel from Leclerc, they will look after the future.

If the F1 official analysis is correct and Merc have .5s race pace advantage it should be an interesting race.

I knew it, 2018 all over again gap came right down in Q3 which shows it was a big engine mode difference in the earlier sessions. Well done Charles.

Great job young man.

Mercedes closed the gap but Ferrari was just too quick. Race pace is too close to call though.

Ferrari's Leclerc takes maiden pole at Bahrain

Charles Leclerc has secured his first pole position in Formula One, outqualifying his Ferrari team mate Sebastian Vettel. The result marks the 62nd Ferrari front row lockout, equalling a record jointly held by Williams and McLaren.

Verstappen 5th, he can easily end up on the podium again, he has the race pace, and Bottas and Vettel don't do well under pressure.

The top 3 are very close in terms of race pace, about .3, but Haas is very close, and McLaren has improved. Ferrari, and Mercedes, vs the soft drink championship Coca Cola McLaren, Red Bull Aston Martin Honda, Rich Energy Haas.

Nice to see Kubica much closer. If he can confirm this tomorrow it would be great news.
Young Russell doing his chances no harm by being quicker, so far, than Kubica. Lots of people will look at that and think "the young lad's doing ok".
Russell has talent so it's great if both are almost matched.

Great job by Ferrari!! And congrats to Leclerc, what an amazing talent.

Well, that spices things up nicely for the race.

Is the gap between Vettel and Leclerc actual pace or did Vettel have a minor issue? If Hamilton hadn't messed up on his final lap he could've been on the front row which doesn't feel representative of Ferrari's pace.

Stroll and Hulkenberg dropped the ball badly. Great laps from K-Mag (so, so close to pipping the Red Bull) and Mclaren too.
