So Honda and Merc have the most reliable PU now and RBR built a dog of a chassis.

Who would have thought that? ^^

Bizarre from the two Renaults there- big loss of points for them both.

Lando Norris again driving beyond his years- he looks a nice talent.

So Ham and Lec gonna have to change parts eh. Gearbox and MGU-K respectively.
Ham why change gearbox?

Wow, we're set up for an incredible season it looks like. Ferrari might be fastest but having reliability problems and driver conflicts coming up if Leclerc might be at times faster than Vettel. Vettel making mistakes under pressure. Mercedes might have more races of qualifying on the 2nd row and finishing both cars on the podium. When I saw Leclerc's (10/1?) odds before season start for WDC I wished I had an extra grand or five to put on him for WDC.

The midfield was abnormally closer to the pole time in qualifying, no? So was it that Mercedes abnormally slow in qualy instead of Ferrari being fast? But it's a sign of a fast midfield and an incredibly close one. Positions 6-18 are all a close battle.

The big disappointment so far looks to be Gasly? If Toro Rosso had a more highly rated driver, would Red Bull be considering a swap if this keeps up for a few more races? And also Renault's reliability... the same exact corner after over an hour of racing, wow...

So sad for Leclerc. Glad he at least gets a podium instead of DNF... that's huge for the WDC and WCC.

There's plenty to complain about with F1 as it is, but I believe this is a better year potentially than the vast majority of the years of F1's history. I was really excited for this GP with high expectations and it was one of the most entertaining races I've ever seen in F1.

What else is new?
- Vettel is simply not that good. What's the excuse now?
- Verstappen did his slide across the corner into collision (TM) move
- Leclerc froze at the start and Sky experts blamed it on tyre temperature
- Stroll should not be in F1
- and FIA are incapable or rather unwilling of making the simplest of calls correctly

BTW why wasn't Stroll penalised for unlapping himself against MV  ? Perhaps because the latter didn't cause a collision this time (official FIA rules)?

I can't believe how Lucky Lewis is.
He knows it:
Pete Bonnington, Hamilton's race engineer says: "Get in there Lewis - that was a hell of a race and an awesome drive."

Hamilton: "Guys, that was extremely unfortunate for Charles. He drove such a great race! We've got work to do to try and keep these guys on our tails."

Absolutely undeserved finishing place for Leclerc. Best driver whole weekend, very nice driving in the race as well and then such a damn technical issue puts him in a miserable position.

Should have been a 1-2 or at least 1-3 for Ferrari.

That’s what you call being magnanimous in victory. No finger waving.

No doubt some will still find a way to slag him off though!

When Ferrari had the faster car last year they managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory handing Merc points they didn't really deserve.

How costly will this race be at the end of the season?
It's not just this race. It is safe to say the PU has reliability issues. Fixing those has ramifications. New mgu-k means at the end of the season taking a penalty.

Man... Leclerc didn't put a foot, toe or nail wrong. This is just sad.
Maybe that's the difference in pace between Merc and Ferrari, Merc are not nearly pushing the PU as hard. I did say earlier in the weekend that Merc were holding their PU back during the earlier FP sessions, a PU failure and penalty is so harsh this year.
I don't think that Mercedes are the only clever ones not pushing the PU. Ferrari usually is clearly slower on Fridays and starts pushing on Saturday. This time they went for a different programme to analyse the changes they have done to the car after Melbourne.

So you might think you're on something with your theory, but I very much doubt that the MGU-K broke down because they were pushing a bit more than others earlier this weekend...
