Well, one of the worst race of F1 since a long time...
Ferrari reliability is crap
Renault reliability is crap
Vettel... Driving as usual
Leclerc brillant, very unlucky, so sad
Honda engine still the last
My guess is that due to the gap to Verstappen after they have to nurse the car in for a front wing change, it wasn’t seem likely that they would catch the Red Bull... If that wasn’t on the cards, saving the engine by running it at a lower setting and just managing the gap to 6th was the smart move.TwanV wrote:Brilliant photo, shows what a couple of flat spots can do. The issue with Ferrari is probably that they have some cooling /reliability issue. Leclerc mentioned fuel issues at the end (ok very likely they were using more fuel when the mgu-k went, nor sure) but what I thought strange was the continuous gap between vet and ves in the last stint. With Ferraris pace they could've gone for p4 on fresh tires but it didn't happen. I think they derated which is a worry, all cars can overstress the engine and run in front, I have a feeling that's what we're seeing. Not to take anything away from Lecler though, perfect performance and a cool head after the race. This season will be excellent, hope RB will sort out the rear end soon for it to be even better.SmallSoldier wrote: ↑31 Mar 2019, 21:12https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201903 ... c7ca8b.jpg

That would be pointless as you can stick a fork in Vettel, he’s done. It was just Hamilton being fair.Sulman wrote: ↑31 Mar 2019, 22:23It's all about Vettel. Hamilton knows he can deal with Leclerc this year.Restomaniac wrote: ↑31 Mar 2019, 22:14So Hamilton has in no perticular order been all over social media bigging up Leclerc and saying how lucky he was, was giving Leclerc a lovely ‘big brother’ speech after the race, was seen giving an ‘I’m sorry’ wave as he passed him on track, made the point about how well Ferrari and Leclerc had gone all weekend.
I think we can safely say that Hamilton knows the score and was willing to acknowledge it as such. Just calling it as he sees it.
Ham strong on corners entry and lec on exit and down the straights. Ferrari has the same traits as in 2017 and 2018
When watching the race live, I assumed that Vettel spun because of contact with Hamilton like last year. But rewatching the race footage and especially the onboards it appears that there was no contact at all. WTF? Such an unforced error.ringo wrote: ↑31 Mar 2019, 22:17lol. Yes. Vettel went on throttle too early. Sounds simple but that's what happened. Vettel is driving angry and he needs to control that. Nothing more than he angrily stepped on the throttle pedal too early. He doesn't have the controlled agression like the great drivers. He needs to work on his head.
He would have fared better easing off the throttle and lining up behind lewis until the car straightens itself and then he would have another go at attacking.
Oh, you meant it?

I quite agree, and as JYS always says it's the first mistake that nearly everyone makes when they get frustrated.
He's never done that before...Cannonballer wrote: ↑31 Mar 2019, 23:10When watching the race live, I assumed that Vettel spun because of contact with Hamilton like last year. I think it's gonna be between McLaren and Haas.foxmulder_ms wrote: ↑31 Mar 2019, 23:21
2) Renault and McLaren will be fighting for the 4th best team. McLAren is the biggest surprise of the season so far for me. They are ok.
Wasn't there either water or contact with another car in the previous incidents?Diesel wrote: ↑31 Mar 2019, 23:23He's never done that before...Cannonballer wrote: ↑31 Mar 2019, 23:10When watching the race live, I assumed that Vettel spun because of contact with Hamilton like last year.
