Oh Baku, you crazy diamond. I didn't want you, but now I don't know how I lived without you.

Here we go again with the boring tyre choices. When the majority of the teams order only one set of C2, Pirelli should change the plan and offer C3/C4/C5 instead.

We'll finally get to see the top teams running their lower-downforce specifications.

In the past, we've seen Merc run their "spoon" rear wing at Baku. But, during the Bahrain test, Merc ran a skinny, Red Bull-style RW. Ferrari tested a spoon RW in Bahrain and in China during FP. Expect they'll run it in Baku.

Will be fun to see all the updates.

I love how the cars get really close on the straights of Baku. Image
Always find the gap then use it.

Finally had time to check Juzh's videos, from China, and there is something strange going on. If one goes by the speedmeters, Renault should have been on pole as it had similar min speeds, on the turns, to that of RB/Merc and similar top speed to Ferrari. Another interesting thing is that Mercedes was, for some reason, quite quicker than any other car on the last corner(181 vs 173kmh or less) but that didn't happen on any other corner. In fact, on the fastest corner of the circuit, Ricciardo was the fastest with 189kmh while Bottas did only 179kmh, Only Kvyat was slower than Bottas on this corner!

As said before, Ferrari(Toro Rosso, Alfa and Mclaren too) is very slow on low speed corners and that should punish them on Baku.

RB about to bring an engine update in Baku, presumably with a boost of 20hp (http://grandprix.com/news/red-bull-to-g ... -baku.html)
If Ferrari's struggles at low-speed corners carry on, I have a feeling they might end up the third best car.

If we would go by all the rumours in some press, Honda (and Renault) should have around 2000 hp by now... let's wait when they indeed hit the track.

You can't judge connected corners by just looking at minimum speeds. Bottas was slow through T8 but that's the cost for a better positioning for T9. He was so much earlier on full throttle than Riccardo at T9 exit. Bottas was at 151km/h when hitting on full throttle, while Ricc was at 164km/h. That gained him a lot on the T10-11 straight.

Bottas was the fastest through T9-11. He even managed to beat Lewis through that part, as shown on the mini sector vid from youtube.

For the same reason, Bottas did a poor T11-13 because his T11 was too greedy and that gave him a bad T12 positioning, which cost him quite a bit on the following long-ass straight.
