There goes Ferrari's weekend
why even go with the medium in freezing temperatures #-o #-o
Too focused on going long in the race because there is no undercut here, the risk was far too great as we just saw though.

Does this help or hinder Vettel ? Must be some big pressure off, but at the same time big pressure on. Vettel has to deliver now.
Vettel is obviously not very comfortable in the car since the start of this weekend, doubtful he can take pole off mercs, unless ferrari really has FP2 like advantage in q3.

He doesn't look on it so far, I think the car is capable of pole position. Also he's alone in the race tomorrow.
Leclerc may be staring around 10-13th , so a good first 5 laps and he can be 5th no problem and well in the race.

Merc can't believe the gift they've just been given.

It's going to be tough to win a championship when you've got the fastest car and you're not maximising the points.

Everything seems to play right into Merc's hands. Charles had the pace for pole. Why not a comeback though?

Still with no chance of victory, and another boredom fest.....

So why risk the car going fastest in Q1 ?
Actually Horner said Gasly would not assist Verstappen with a tow.

Maybe they just need to validate their race pace set up? Gasly looked mighty, looking forward to seeing him dice through the field. The Toro Rosso's seem to have some pace too.
Ah ok, seems a bit odd though, If Gasly gets in, then surely it makes sense to help Max get further up the grid without losing anything for Gasly. No other team can have that luxury. So might as well exploit it
I agree, I think Horner was trying to be coy and not give it away. But if they don't exploit it, that's a fair amount of confidence. But there are also other cars and two STRs, so maybe it'll just come down to luck of the draw.

How many more will end up in the wall on turn 8 in the race do you think?

Rowland copies KUB and LEC.

Ferrari tried to be clever and brought this onto themselves. Barely would have worked...
And now after LEC tried too hard it a shambles.

Leclerc still has the pace to win starting from the pit lane. He can finish 25 seconds ahead of Vettel under normal circumstances.

Also the fluid cleanup on track shouldn't be a big deal, it's power steering and brake fluid, not oil.

Charles can still win the race from 13th, so it's not over for him. With that pace advantage that he has, an alternate strategy keeping him in clean air can bring him to the front end of the race.

My eyes are on redbull, i'm wondering how they are finding this pace. It may be from ability to manage the low grip situations better.
For Sure!!
