Massive tow effect for both Mercedes cars. They were up to 1 tenth down after S2 and then gained almost half a second in last sector.

This means, the Mercedes drivers are 1 second a lap faster than Sebastian. At least.

Why on earth did mercedes do practice starts...
Wow they got away but why the practice start though.
What practice start? They just waited to be behind other cars for the tow effect.

Vettel 3 tenths away and had the perfect prep.

Did he use all the tyres in first 2 sectors?

Merc just hide pace in practice ?
Merc have a plan and they execute it perfectly....Fer no execution

More like Bottas. Was his last year, should be payback for last year.
You mean the Bottas who qualified 3rd, was very distant 3rd during the race and sort of lucked into a winning position through circumstance, strategy and Vettels error on the safety car restart? Yeah he was very unfortunate to have that puncture, but likewise also very fortunate to even be in that position.

But yeah, wouldnt be surprised if Bottas again shows strong pace. He was “only” 1.5 tenths down on Lewis in Q3 last year.
I called it :)
But to be honest, Lewis starting 2nd might be more advantageous.

I think starting from 2nd or 3rd might be better too because of the tow. Either way, I don't think Bottas will win tomorrow. I personally think he kind of lucked into pole today with the tow lottery. I also think Hamilton was way too close for most of the lap and the outlap wasn't optimal at all. Either way though, I don't think starting from pole will be good though, so I think Hamilton is well set-up for the race tomorrow. Gonna be a good race I'm sure.
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

Redbull has a good chance of winning this race. Max will have the tyres in the right window way before the others. On average over the race the redbull will treat the tyres better.
For Sure!!

Bottas was behind Hamilton on both runs and Hamilton benefitted a lot on the first run from the tow. He messed up his gap on the second run, otherwise he would have gobbled Bottas up. Mercedes gave Hamilton everything for pole, he just made a minor error. Bottas, I feel was not lucky and just managed the little details better. Deserved pole!

I also don't feel he will win tomorrow. Hamilton will get him at the start and Vettel will give him a run too. Hamilton's race to lose.
