Gasly excluded from qualifying due to exceeding fuel flow limit
too much tow. engine sucked too much flow. yo!

AMUS:

In the slipstream battle in qualifying turned the Honda engine in the limiter, which in turn brought the gasoline sensor to vibrate. Values above the maximum permitted injection quantity were measured.
Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

I think several people here have rose tinted glasses on. If anything, the last several rule changes have been designed to hurt Mercedes. The reason why we so much whining now, is because the other teams have failed to capitalize on the opportunists given to them.
Except that rule change that gave us thin gague tyres that solved Mercedes' problem, and gave it to everyone else..
That's not correct. Ferrari was also suffering massive blistering problems with "standard" 2018 tires at high-energy circuits.

Vettel also eventually explained that the switch to the thinner-gauge rubber was the right move.

People who say the races nowadays are boring , please remember when they had to install the 107% rule.
This race almost the whole field except Williams was withing 2 second of eachother during qually.
Williams lost alot of time and parts i guess with the draingate.(dont drive over drains + weld them shut for a race i say).
Kubica is not capable i guess and better step back and advise.Give one of the rookies time who have actually been competing.
Kubica never drove a hybrid area car right? I mean in his real racing days

Rose is the appropriate color, foggy rose colored to boot. Maybe we can be back to Baku on the discussion though. I was surprised as to how difficult it was to overtake even with DRS, yeah you can overtake another car easily especially if there's a tire advantage but I was very surprised and happy to see Bottas defend against Hamilton's late charge the way he did.

Seems like what the new front wings have helped with is front tire degradation while following close behind, but I was really really expecting an overtake that never materialized and reading some of the post race commentary from Hamilton he knew it wasn't going to happen. Probably something to keep in mind going forward.
It was impossible to follow in the second sector. hamilton would close the gap in the first and third sector, but once he got to the second sector and within 1.5sec of Bottas I could see on the live timing that he was losing time. I think the virtual safety car also impeded his progress. He was getting closer and closer, with a few more laps he would have had a go I feel.

There is too much negative towards Ferrari. Full disclosure: I dont like the team. I really dislike there #1 driver fetish. This year, for the first 4 races they were a little bit unlucky. They (Leclerc) could have won two of them with a little bit luck. So it is not all doom and gloom. I fully expect a recovery.

I do see bright future for Alonso coming into Ferrari 2020 replacing Vettel. There is not reason to keep Vettel in Ferrari.

IMHO there is no reason to take Alonso back (he is too much political).

You have to wonder whether Alonso would want to go back to Ferrari or F1 in general. He's off doing new things now and, it seems, is happier than he's been in a long time.

Anyway, why would Ferrari take him back when they have one of the best of the new generation in the car already.

I’m glad Bottas is stepping up his game, at least there’s an intra-team battle if nothing else.

I’m happy for Checo finishing sixth. His McLaren debacle tarnished his rep, but I still think he can hang with the best of them.

I watched the start, and slept through most of the race.
He is a true racer, too bad that his time in McLaren damaged his career because he could have raced for Ferrari, for example.

True, but he took the Mclaren seat and threw away his chance at a Ferrari seat. So, it was his own decision t do so. I read that Ferrari would have taken him for 2014/15 but he had to stay at Sauber for another year, He chose Mclaren in 2013, so that was the Ferrari door firmly shut.
