The Mercedes may have a .4 second advantage in sector 3 alone.

So, I just read this tweet by Mark Hughes, which admittedly doesn't say much, but, might hint at Ferrari having a first bit of a real fix to be competitive (though admittedly I first thought it referred to their lunchtime activities of the protest, as do evidently many of the people responding - a clever teaser then):

So, maybe sector 3 Mercedes will be 0.4 ahead of Red Bull, but perhaps no longer Ferrari?

The only had a tenth advantage last year... they gained the majority of the time in Sector 1 last year.

But they might be a lot better through T12 and T15 this year; I guess Ferrari would still be the fastest in S2, though despite Bottas feeling the track itself would be better without the chicane in mistral, I bet the Mercedes engineers are quite happy to have it there this year (and maybe it also helps Haas, Ferrari keep those tyres warmed up?)

Funnily enough, Mercedes was faster than Ferrari through S2 (2 tenths), by a greater margin than S3 (1 tenth).

Whoever was faster in each sector last year - it has zero influence and meaning on/for 2019.

That pit exit is a joke.

That Vettel going differently out of the pitlane, and keeping it off the track to keep out of the way of Bottas seems to indicate that maybe another tweak to the pitlane exit could be a wise thing, taking it all the way around T1 and joining at the end of it (as we discussed earlier in this thread, comparing to Korea).

Right, so the Renaults'smoke from the cockpit both for Hulk, and Ricciardo, was indeed the front of the floor rubbing the track quite heavily, which Renault says happens a lot at the start of weekends!?

LOL, that's a great bit of video, with the CEO's bemused face as work goes on around him - they seem quite casual about showing the underside of that floor in quite good detail indeed!

Might be checking the data on the new updates, deciding on set up, and next bits of the program. Though they did have trouble keeping the tyres working for more than a lap according to Vettel, so perhaps that's something they are looking at addressing?

Tyres holding up well Lewis set his fastest lap on his 4th timed lap on that set of tyres.

They went back to the old wing on Seb's car (didn't see what Charles was using on his last run) could they revert to old spec, hence longish time in garage?
