Interesting. What's the lowest grid position LH has won from?
14th, last year's German GP.

Vettel has never won a race starting further down than 3rd. Gonna be great seeing move up the order tomorrow with that rocket ship.

LH has more poles but fewer Ws compared to MSc.
Because MS run refuelling period, he should have much more poles than LH has right now, imho.
To do something well is so worthwhile that to die trying to do it better cannot be foolhardy. It would be a waste of life to do nothing with one's ability, for I feel that life is measured in achievement, not in years alone. ― Bruce McLaren

14th. LH has a much higher W percentage than MS, give it 70 more races and we'll see where things wind up. Depending on what happens in the first couple of laps and where the temperature winds up, I think it's anyone's race from the top 4 spots.

Somehow Mercedes' laptime slower than 2018. Other than having a more draggy car in 2019, hot temp must've hit them harder than other teams.

They lost 6 tenths in qualifying to Ferrari (a good chunk of that on the straights) due to having to run more conservative PU modes than usual (due to the heat, as you suggested).

Wolff said that Austria, due to the altitude and heat, along with Mexico last year, have been two of Merc's weakest tracks.

They were strong, with pace in hand in FP3, then they just never really turned up the wick despite Hamilton putting in a pretty decent lap in Q3.

Edit: Props to the Ferrari PU and cooling architecture; it served LEC well in qualifying.

Mercedes' engine not running full power in quali? Do you have source for that?

Ferrari is strong here. Like they were last year (were they lost it on the opening lap).

This year Lec has all the cards. But why did they choose red to start on?
They might be better on the reds then everybody else.

Yes, I've seen it 2 places. This was the first (I mentioned it a few pages back)

"Cooling problems have not allowed to take advantage of the full power here in Austria. The 6 tenths lost on against the SF90 are the result."

MSc hurt his win percentage by returning for a second stint - it reduced from 36% down to 29%. LH only keeps increasing his win % during his Merc stint.

Comparing drivers from different eras is a futile exercise. Anyone who dominated the sport in his time, is bound to achieve greatness. Numbers are all influenced by changing circumstances, in the changing times.

With the power on the straight and the DRS on this track, Seb should have little trouble getting to 4th, from there on I see it as being a tyre or safety car roll of the dice.
For him to get 4th he is going to have to pass at least 1 of Hamilton, Bottas, LeClerc or...........Verstappen.

What are the rumours, in terms of the detail of the contract?

Vettel had plenty of races where he came from the back and showed good race craft. One of them made him champion.
If the RedBull wasn't built like a tank for that race, it was his race craft that should have cost him the title. At least 1 car retired after contact with Vettel, after Vettel chopped someone at the apex of T4. After that he did a stellar job, but that moment should have cost him the title.
