Sainz was on Hard tyres. He said in an interview just after the race that he went wide and hit a yellow banana breaking the front wing and loosing a lot of downforce. He think he has to go boxes to replace the nose but at the end it was not neccesary and finally resisted Raikonnen.
Lets not count our chickens before they hatch. A bird in hand is worth 2 in the bush. I see images of the Renault guys about this huge update being worth whatever at Paul Ricard, Only to see it go flat. Yep things look positive at McLaren, I certainly am hoping for a very positive update,
I love those Bananas, they should be mandatory at all tracks that have paved runoff.Dextercitox wrote: ↑30 Jun 2019, 17:03Sainz was on Hard tyres. Great race for both cars, can't wait and see what can we do with the new updated floor too.
I don't think they showed Sainz at any moment, except when he was lining up at the start.Bisonas wrote: ↑30 Jun 2019, 17:04Amazing race for Mclaren and amazing race overall.
Very mature drive from NOR and what a race for SAI.
After pit stop and until his balance problems, he was like a possessed man. I couldn't believe what i was watching.
He probably did the most on track overtakes by far, but TV coverage didn't show most of them.
Great Job both of them.
TV coverage was garbage today. Showing everything else than action on the track in the first stage of the race.Bisonas wrote: ↑30 Jun 2019, 17:04Amazing race for Mclaren and amazing race overall.

You are absolutely right... The fact that Lando is still not on the Spec B makes his drive even more impressive.PhillipM wrote:Well, the better news is Norris has that new Renault engine to slot in too and I think Sainz has shown that the overtake/qualifying mode has a decent improvement.SmallSoldier wrote: ↑30 Jun 2019, 16:56As long as ours is 0.1 more than the rest... Then it’s all good... Hopefully the can consolidate this position and be clearly in front of the midfield by summer brake.
At the moment only top 3 divers get coverage even if they are all alone... this needs to change, as teams have sponsors on the cars for a reason.proteus wrote: ↑30 Jun 2019, 17:08TV coverage was garbage today. Sky sports has Brit bias. Meaning they'll show the top 3 teams + the brits. Which I guess is normal for British base broadcasting. They're gonna show what the majority of their viewers want to see.NiyolHuayra wrote: ↑30 Jun 2019, 17:11At the moment only top 3 divers get coverage even if they are all alone... this needs to change, as teams have sponsors on the cars for a reason.proteus wrote: ↑30 Jun 2019, 17:08TV coverage was garbage today. I think so far, only Alfa have suggested bringing something big.... Renault have already, Racing Point said around Germany or Hungary, and to be fair, so far their updates haven’t set the world alight. It could be a good opportunity, that is if they work as hoped, to really put a strangle hold on 4th.
