2019 Mclaren F1 Team - Renault

What a race from McLaren what a race! Now we can say WE ARE BEST OF THE REST, and still improving a lot race by race! The team deserves this. A bit unlucky again in the last laps but this time SAI, he could have passed GAS but nevertheless great effort! Also Honda deserves this one.

Job well done. Hopefully the rest of the season goes without many mechanical problems and they really can manage to keep 4th. Norris did well and recovered superbly, i must say i like his sense of humor about the Ricciardo nad DRS. Sainz also did the fantastic job and simply jumped over the field with his fresh set, shame for the damage since Gasly was in the reach.

Yeah, he was pulling half a second a lap on Gasly and Gasly tyres were getting worse, pretty unlucky.

Sainz was on Hard tyres. He said in an interview just after the race that he went wide and hit a yellow banana breaking the front wing and loosing a lot of downforce. He think he has to go boxes to replace the nose but at the end it was not neccesary and finally resisted Raikonnen.

Great race for both cars, can't wait and see what can we do with the new updated floor too.

The problem with a Silverstone update even if it's worth half a second, is that most teams will also be bringing a few tenths there, bar Ferrari maybe, just because it's so easy to use it for testing parts, still, the Mclaren guys all seem pretty upbeat.

Lets not count our chickens before they hatch. A bird in hand is worth 2 in the bush. I see images of the Renault guys about this huge update being worth whatever at Paul Ricard, Only to see it go flat. Yep things look positive at McLaren, I certainly am hoping for a very positive update,

I love those Bananas, they should be mandatory at all tracks that have paved runoff.

I don't think they showed Sainz at any moment, except when he was lining up at the start.

As long as ours is 0.1 more than the rest... Then it’s all good... Hopefully the can consolidate this position and be clearly in front of the midfield by summer brake.

Well, the better news is Norris has that new Renault engine to slot in too and I think Sainz has shown that the overtake/qualifying mode has a decent improvement.

You are absolutely right... The fact that Lando is still not on the Spec B makes his drive even more impressive.

At the moment only top 3 divers get coverage even if they are all alone... this needs to change, as teams have sponsors on the cars for a reason.

Sky sports has Brit bias. Meaning they'll show the top 3 teams + the brits. Which I guess is normal for British base broadcasting. They're gonna show what the majority of their viewers want to see.

I think so far, only Alfa have suggested bringing something big.... Renault have already, Racing Point said around Germany or Hungary, and to be fair, so far their updates haven’t set the world alight. It could be a good opportunity, that is if they work as hoped, to really put a strangle hold on 4th.

What a race by the team. Great performance by both NOR and SAI, my heart almost exploded when I saw NOR as 3rd after the first chicane and what a great recovery drive by SAI. At the moment we are the 4th best team, and 2 races in a row we manage to have one car ahead of one RRB. Also speaking of RRB, congratulations on HONDA for their first F1 win in the new era, overall the best race of the season by far!

Great race. I can't separate the circuit specific race pace advantage from the McLaren development, but it's definitely going in the right direction for McLaren. Sainz long stint was very good and a direct comparison to Renault.
