I hope he wins too. Because i’d rather see a Vettel at the top of his game, than one who is struggling. And admittedly, i’m getting annoyed by the constant bashing of him. His made mistakes, sure, but he’s also delivered awesome drives and poles in his career and when the car was to his liking.
I'm sorry but bashing is totally acceptable here. Why should Vettel have immunity/special treatment by the media and fans?
He doesn't deserve a win. Leclerc deserves a win because he has been performing better lately (qualifying, podiums, race craft) plus he basically won in Bahrain but was let down by the car.
Moreover he has been screwed at least a couple of times by team strategy.
Last time Vettel was close to a win, he bottled it. You are as good as you were yesterday. That's life for everyone, not just Vettel.
