Max may have been a Q3 lap fuel level. He boxed immidiately after while Ferrari and Merc do multiple runs.

Gasly is so far behind and Max so close behind the Ferrari’s that they should use Gasly to give Max a massive tow on the long straight. That would mean the difference between beating Ferrari and not. Let’s see if someone in the pitbox of RB thinks of this.

Being this close means fight for pole but may end second or third at all. I expect beating Ferrari at race and beating Mercedes both qual and race in this race.
I expect nothing from Gasly.

Jup, so may as well use Gasly for something useful. With how long this straight is it can save Max a couple of tenths.

First corner
it's still down around 14 kmh compared to his last year's q3 run
there is one less DRS zone this year.
doesnt matter cuz we're taliing about the corner speed, not straight line speed

Every weekend apart from Austria is a walk in a park for Merc!
Yeah, Bahrain and Canada, they really ran away with those races...
Would that be the same Canada where Hamilton was shoved so far up Vettel’s backside that Vettel felt uncomfortable and had to wriggle and went totally off track and cocked up? That Canada?
Is not being on pole and having to push and harry your opponent every lap of the race a walk in the park?

Doesnt make his point less valid. He didnt say its a walk in the park because of the W10, he said every race is a walk in the park for Merc.

1. Almost every race the W10 is clearly the fastest car
2. If something does happen, such as Ferrari having a rare pace advantage there is always the good old Ferrari strategy mess-up, pit blunder or driver error to safe them. Just last race Bottas was saved by Vettels torpedoing of Max.

Just 1 time have they been beaten and that was due to a cooling design problem in extreme heat circumstances, which accordimg to Bottas is now pretty much fixed.
He didn’t ‘they’ve won every weekend except Austria’, he said every week except Austria is a walk in the park.

If you’re not on pole it’s not a walk in the park; if you have to battle hard with the 2nd place guy and rely on the 1st place guy to brake down, it’s not a walk in the park; if you have to rely on a mistake/questionable stewards decision to get the win (while the other car is nowhere) it’s not a walk in park.

Yes they only didn’t win one race but there have been at least 3 weekends (before this one) where they didn’t have it easy - one which they lost and two where their opponents really shot themselves in the foot - so it’s a bit silly and simplistic to say it’s all been a walk in the park bar the race where they had cooling issues.

As a general rule, Hamilton is king in the wet. He’s won every single set race since 2014.
Is that why He almost lost pole, twice, to Vettel, in Sepang, despite much better car??? Also, check 2012 wet qualifyings to see who is really good on the wet, when no car was dominant. Another myth regarding the super hyped LH
