Did anyone read the thursday press conference? The media asking some pretty personal questions about how the drivers feel about Lewis' driving, and they gave some good explainations as to the different views between the drivers.

Does make interesting reading as it shows that a lot of what has been said is being blown up by the media or taken out of context by them

Why's that? People more closely involved in the sport than you aren't allowed to take a strong opinion? I can think of many things that are astonishing, disgusting, and a combination of the two, and I've yet to see any such thing. And I've read it all.

The day competitors in sport can't take the piss out of one another is the day I stop watching F1. If you can't take he heat, get out of the kitchen.

They said very little at all. Except for Alonso, the drivers show that they have had thorough and mostly successful media training. Before such forums take place, team PR professionals coach the drivers on how to respond (or not respond) to as many potential questions as they can come up with. The drivers then parrot what they've been told to say. Exciting? Invigorating? Educational? No, no, no. But neither are there many embarrassing moments or statements that need later "clarification."

It's big biz/show biz.

On the other hand, athletes who say what's really on their mind can be refreshing. I, for one, would like to see someone like, say, Bode Miller, who is a genuine free thinker with an even more free mouth, in Formula 1. It would be nice to get something other than the usual dry statements, and more frank,honest, and open remarks. Fernando is good that way, but I wouldn't mind a bit more.

This isn't politics, it's racing, there's nothing to clarify, and at the end of the day, the drivers should be judged by their actions on the track, and that's it.

LOL, Hamilton almost hitting the gravel trap he lost it last year. I thought they had asphalted that one over. Ron looked like spitting razor blades.

30 minutes later webber has a catastrophic Renault engine failure. Renault are 6 months behind Ferrari on lubrication optimization and sure enough a customer engine cries enough.

After much hardship Nick gets to do some practise runs with soft tyres and low fuel. he takes P1 in 3.FP.

If it rains tomorrow and is anything like Silverstone then I think Hamilton could be in with a serious chance. I don't think anyone can deny at this point that he's plain quicker than everyone else in the wet plus I can imagine Massa spinning in the wet for sure. In fact, Lewis has been faster all weekend in the dry so wet weather would just be a bonus.

Hamilton has a chance to clinch the title at China, here's a segment from Autosport Magazine with the scenarios;

1) IF Hamilton finishes first AND Massa finishes no higher than fifth
2) IF Hamilton finishes second AND Massa finishes no higher than seventh AND Kubica does not win
3) IF Hamilton finishes third AND Massa fails to score points AND Kubica does not finish first or second.

Very big gap in times between Lewis and the Ferraris. But he has been quick since Friday practice, but I don't doubt there is a reduced fuel element involved.

If the extra pace is put to good use in the first stint they should avoid Kimi leap frogging them with the first pit stops.

If it rains all bets are off imo, doesn't matter if you're quick in the wet, tyre strategies / pit stops are more important.

Any word on the stewards investigating Heidfeld? When I saw the replay I was shocked that he compromised DC so badly. I'd be interested in the other side of the story and whether or not the stewards are going to punish him.

those are correct except for kubica's situation

2) if hamilton finishes 2nd, kubica is out even if he wins

3) if lewis finishes 3rd, kubica only can win to be alive in the championship
