Plus everyone is always asking for runoffs where you really can't just rejoin the race? well, this is how it would look like then
And on one end people are complaining about the pavement runoffs and wanting back the gravel. But when there is a runoff which doesn’t give you any time gain it’s not okay either...
Hamilton was also very lucky. If he did the.crash at 10 meter forward he would go with that car whole one lap before pitting.Just_a_fan wrote: ↑28 Jul 2019, 17:29Exactly. If Max's spin had caused damage he'd have been way back too. Sometimes you just need to have a bit of good fortune on your side. Today Max did and many others didn't.

I think It was Mercedes' fault TBH,without saying Ham was at his best.
There was once another user, whose username also ends with the numbers 8 and 9, who spent weeks posting wildly hyperbolic nonsense every 5 mins, then Honda won and he found himself on everyone's ignore list and is now invisible.Pyrone89 wrote: ↑28 Jul 2019, 17:33I have never been so happy to be soo wrong
I was wondering when the blame on Mercedes was going to appear. Changeable conditions caught everyone, some just handled it better than others.Bill_Kar wrote:I think It was Mercedes' fault TBH,without saying Ham was at his best.
1)Everyone was spinning/crashing on the slicks and Hamilton(inters) was 3 seconds faster than Vettel(softs), why pit Hamilton for slicks?
2)Then not pitting Ham to serve 5 seconds under VSC, this was stupid. They would lose a couple of places but he would snatch them back easily on new inters.
3)Going a lap longer than most to pit for slicks, when it was obvious slicks was the best choice.
And if verstappen lost it a corner later, he would be where Ham isetusch wrote: ↑28 Jul 2019, 17:32Hamilton was also very lucky. We are in complete agreement, Mercedes didn't handle it well, thus they are at fault (partly at least) . I'm not saying they are a bunch of amateurs, just that they have a lot to talk about internally, strategy - wiseJonoNic wrote: ↑28 Jul 2019, 17:37I was wondering when the blame on Mercedes was going to appear. True that the other two made fewer apparent mistakes, but Max not only made 5 pitstops but also made the right timely judgment calls to change tires. His spin recovery was pretty impressive.Unc1eM0nty wrote: ↑28 Jul 2019, 17:32Agreed, I'm going to have to watch the whole race again, just so much to keep track of
Going off and damaging the car is less lucky than going off and not damaging the car, no matter how you spin it...etusch wrote: ↑28 Jul 2019, 17:32Hamilton was also very lucky.
