As much as this race was won by Verstappen, it was lost by Hamilton. When he lost his FW he was leading the GP by around 25-30 seconds.
what's worse, is he apparently didn't want to come in for the softs he wanted to stay out and he did with the team told him to do!

Whoever decided to have drag race starts from that run off area should get shot tbh
That drag strip has been there for years.
Plus everyone is always asking for runoffs where you really can't just rejoin the race? well, this is how it would look like then :D

Best race in the last 4 or 5 years. Congrats to Max. Kvyat and Vettel deserved DOTD more than Max.
Agreed, I'm going to have to watch the whole race again, just so much to keep track of

And on one end people are complaining about the pavement runoffs and wanting back the gravel. But when there is a runoff which doesn’t give you any time gain it’s not okay either...

Exactly. If Max's spin had caused damage he'd have been way back too. Sometimes you just need to have a bit of good fortune on your side. Today Max did and many others didn't.
Hamilton was also very lucky. If he did the.crash at 10 meter forward he would go with that car whole one lap before pitting.

Verstappen new wet king, this was a GOAT-level performance
The phrase "I told ya so" comes to mind...

I have never been so happy to be soo wrong
True GOATs don’t need the help of superior material to win.

Tom Brady, Usain Bolt are true GOATs.

I think It was Mercedes' fault TBH,without saying Ham was at his best.

1)Everyone was spinning/crashing on the slicks and Hamilton(inters) was 3 seconds faster than Vettel(softs), why pit Hamilton for slicks?

2)Then not pitting Ham to serve 5 seconds under VSC, this was stupid. They would lose a couple of places but he would snatch them back easily on new inters.

3)Going a lap longer than most to pit for slicks, when it was obvious slicks were the best choice.

There was once another user, whose username also ends with the numbers 8 and 9, who spent weeks posting wildly hyperbolic nonsense every 5 mins, then Honda won and he found himself on everyone's ignore list and is now invisible.

I was wondering when the blame on Mercedes was going to appear. Changeable conditions caught everyone, some just handled it better than others.

And if verstappen lost it a corner later, he would be where Ham is

We are in complete agreement, Mercedes didn't handle it well, thus they are at fault (partly at least) . I'm not saying they are a bunch of amateurs, just that they have a lot to talk about internally, strategy - wise

Man I am exhausted after watching that race! Always something going on beginning to end. Well worth it for the entertainment value and congratulations to Vettel for giving Ferrari fans something to cheer about, it's been long overdue. It's rare to see Mercedes cock up during a race the way they did but Hamilton's race was over after his off and Bottas threw away a good chunk of points that could have gone deep into his deficit. Congratulations to Toro Rosso and Stroll and everyone else that made brilliant calls. Albon needs to be in that second Red Bull seat.

True that the other two made fewer apparent mistakes, but Max not only made 5 pitstops but also made the right timely judgment calls to change tires. His spin recovery was pretty impressive.

Going off and damaging the car is less lucky than going off and not damaging the car, no matter how you spin it...
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.
