People talk about how internal combustion engines is a dead end in car propulsion technology and F1 needs to be road relevant. Battery powered cars are fairly developed at this point. It seems that there hasn't been much improvement in that field for quite some time already. I say that we should invest in and promote self -driving F1 cars. Because it IS the way of the future.
There are many things to explore and develop with EVs. Particularly if you look past the motor itself. Batteries, electronics, fuel cells. But there are also a lot of different types of electric motors as well, including super conducting motors.
There is a different series in plan for self-driving cars. It's an interesting idea, though I doubt the racing will be near as exciting as when human's do it.

60 degree V12s only.
Unlimited revs.
Unlimited materials.
Unlimited valving.
Unlimited fuel.
This is hilarious. Un-limit everything, but prescribe 60°V12s, because... Just because! V12s rule LOL!

First, to provide real technological advancement in areas of actual relevance to sports driving enthusiasts.
So with no relevance to anything.

lol, this is an insane power trip.
Well... I'm hardly the first. See:

fair comment :)

tho I still think high revs sound awful
They do. Old engines sound a lot more pleasant. Like that excerpt the put in an rfactor mod with a driver commenting on engine sounds, Ferrari V12, BRM V8 (I think) and others.

Just as it is now but make it so you can only use DRS when you are *outside* 1 second gap of the car in front and you can't use it if you are leading. Also none of this activation zone nonsense.
That'd defeat the purpose of the DRS and eradicate even what little racing we have right now.
