There a number of things apart from the start (which have been horrible so far this year) that RB/Honda have to worry about.
Sums up the situation very nicely.Pyrone89 wrote: ↑04 Aug 2019, 00:05There a number of things apart from the start (which have been horrible so far this year) that RB/Honda have to worry about.
-a divebomb into turn 1 or 2
-even if they manage to keep P1 they have to break the DRS within 2 laps because of the abilities of the other teams on the straight
-build a sufficient gap against undercuts and overcuts. Basically the Merc drivers have already announced they are going to double team the one RB because Gasly was and is useless as always making it 2 vs 1. So they need a sizeable gap to protect against that as they dont have a second driver making the Mercs watch their own back (so full attack mode in strategy sense).
-reliability. For example the PU has done 6 races including one with high engine modes in the heat.
-unlucky sc and vsc
What worries me for Verstappen is exactly how bad his starts have been, hopefully they addressed it.
Ferrari may have still an advantage, but in the race they can't use as much power as in Qualifying, so it shouldn't be quite as significant - and Mercedes and Red Bull were fairly equal today, weren't they?!Pyrone89 wrote: ↑04 Aug 2019, 00:05There a number of things apart from the start (which have been horrible so far this year) that RB/Honda have to worry about.

As always, Ferrari is mighty through high speed corners. T4 Lec over 250km/hJuzh wrote: ↑03 Aug 2019, 20:07P01 verstappen 1.14.572

I'm pretty sure Renault and Ferrari still have the turbine and compressor together?Restomaniac wrote: ↑04 Aug 2019, 02:10...
I assume all engine manufactures have now gone down the Mercedes route of splitting the turbine from the compressor?
Agreed. I do hope you're right about Mad Max having grown up. If he drives a clean race today and wins I'll be impressed. Fingers crossed.djos wrote:Awesome qualifying effort by Max, he's really moved from Mad Max, to Mighty Max this year!
