On board with PER and KUB it seemed more lIle a turbo problem, I would guess an oil lubrication issue. Notice neither were on a hot lap. Installation problem most likely.dans79 wrote: ↑01 Sep 2019, 00:11I'm betting it's a cooling config issue between Mercedes and its customer teams.zibby43 wrote: ↑01 Sep 2019, 00:07This didn't help Mercedes today (via AMuS):
"The Mercedes pilots could not drive as usual in Q3 mode. After two engine damage in customer cars whose causes are not yet cleared, Mercedes was careful. After Sergio Perez lost an engine on Friday, it caught in the qualification Robert Kubica. Mercedes had to fight this Saturday in Spa but still with other problems."
No Q3 mode used because of the engine problems with the customer teams.
it will be interesting to see who can keep their tires energized, as that's going to play a big part in tire life, and tire longevity. Personally I think the cold will hurt Ferrari and help Mercedes and Red bull.
The cold will help ferrari's race pace, they had massive degreadation in friday hot weather
I think that's because they run less downforce in the front and they were over steering. In my opinion the cold will make it worse on their fronts but might potentially help their rears.siskue2005 wrote: ↑01 Sep 2019, 15:04The cold will help ferrari's race pace, they had massive degreadation in friday hot weather
