But nothing wrong, right? Only saving the engine for Monza.

Well, if Albon was using the old Spec 3 from Gasly, it was more impressive what he did. The Spec 4 should be a nice step forward! =D>

Albon was using a bit more rear DF than Max, so that top speed seems great

No, they switched back to the same spec RW after that trial run in FP3, meaning both were using higher DF levels wing from then onwards.

Albon used an old specification engine in the qualification and race. He was replaced after Friday's training. Kvyat used a new one.
Source? And why replace it? Nobody said that, and Honda said today that the Spec 4 delvered what was expected, and a lot of data was gathered. It've no sense to change to a Spec 3 if you want to test the new engine on a power hungry track... But well, let's wait and see if there is any source
I read it in motorsport, but there is only part of the Horner interview he gave to journalists after the race. I think we need to wait until the original appears. But the article says just that.
So apperantly they decided to have different aproach from spec 3 inroduction at france and used the Engine only with Kvyat to get data about it and fine tune.
Tanabe san said that the pu worked as expected. It is good news and if it can be still better with fine tune... Albon will use it in better shape with zero tear on it.
In the other hand Redbull had saw that they can gain places when they started from back of grid. Albon said he was not fast at start which will not be case for Verstappen. So more confidence to switch for new engine.

I would say that great news (it is strange to write when the old version is used).

Most likely, Kvyat showed such a maximum speed when he overtook Dan on the 34th lap. Hulk, Stroll and Albon made their last overtaking much later, when the car was even lighter. I’m not sure exactly when these measurements of maximum speed were made, but I think by the end of the race.
Hamilton overtook Vettel on the 32nd lap and then were still circular, and the he was less 13 km / h slower.

Albon speed may be overtaking Kvyat or chasing Pérez on late race. Not sure about Kvyat, maybe had some DRS on the final laps lapping someone? If not, it should be last overtake on Ricciardo

It seems Ricciardo was the last to Kvyat, all the rest were on the same circle with him, including leaders. It should be noted that Honda usually does not use new versions of the engine in the first races at maximum. Today, everyone used DRS a lot, so everything looks good.

It sounds wild, but I just read that Max and Albon used Specification 2 (Horner Interview).

What??? Where did you get this information?
@Lio007, you are from Austria. I think you must know and understand the ORF. :P
Indeed, I am! ;-)
But unfortunately I haven't seen the race (in some aspects I'm happy I haven't, the first lap incident with Max would have cost me some nerves), therefore no ORF for me this afternoon. Did they mention it there?
Maybe I'll watch the replay, but it's at 03:40...so quite early to get up.

Edit: ah...jumped directly to page 288, so I haven't seen your ORF-link in page 287. In think in hindsight Dr. Marko somehow regrets their desicion for Max' PU change in Monza.

kvyat did 356 on lap 33 while chasing down grosjean. He caught him from a long way back despite haas also having DRS and slipstream, forcing him to take a defensive line.

f1tv was bugged on kvyat's onboard and so had no engine sounds.

You could probably watch it on demand via ORF tvthek, or at least that worked for me in the past.
