Wonder if Ver will be able to fight with Mercedes. Ferrari should be not on the top on track witch such huge amounts of slow corners, or even - a lot of corners.
I'm not so sure actually, Ferrari looked pretty good in Bahrain or Baku for example, where we also had plenty of those 90° kind of corners.

Sure, there's a lack of straights to make up time in Singapore, but they still have a way superiour qualifying mode, and where they really struggle seem to be more those front-limited kind of tracks. Compared to Hungary, they should lose way less time in the corners, I would think - and therefor also need less straights, to make up time.

I'll be surprised if Ferrari are on the pace, i think their front end isn't strong enough and they can only help it if they sacrifice the rear and make it less stable. they must be improving but so are the Red Bull and Mercedes, it's a moving target. Tho yes like Bahrain and Baku it's nice and warm for their tyres, but still it's downforce isn't it and the others have got more. Still it'd be cool if I'm wrong, let's see

yeah, they are not the favourites for sure. I just think that this "they don't have a chance because of the slow corners" approach is a bit too much short thinking.

In Canada for example I remember Mercedes saying, that there were just two corners where they had an advantage over Ferrari. And I struggle to see too many of those in Singapore as well.

Why are you bringing this up here, something from a year ago?
What exactly do you want to say?
Stop feeling touchy. I haven't heard anything related to track limits yet for this circuit, like we heard in Spa (Radillon) and Monza (Parabolica) and wondering if we could see the stewards issuing guidance on that. Generally, there is lot of track limits abuse in that corner and should be penalized if drivers do it.
 I am not feeling touchy at all. I asked you what you exactly want to say.
So you could have simply put this answer here right away. Then you would have been a lot clearer.
Well alex wurz said about the monza sausage it was at the entry of the curve where you actually loose time cutting so gravel is better there but at the exit when zou are slowest you actually gain time in some curves so this might be one of them.

I reckon it's that there are so many corners, that aren't power limited, and at each one more downforce gives the others later braking and more exit speed and earlier traction. I've seen a few analyses of different corners for Ferrari this year and they're generally different from each other :? :)

and even in Monza Lewis was actually faster over a lap on race day and even Valtteri

yeah, I was more thinking about Qualifying, I don't think Ferrari will be anywhere close on race day, speed wise. But if they can manage to get a car near front row, it could still spice up things quite nicely

the drivers make a lot of difference here don't they so yes it could happen, one magic lap, and then it's not exactly easy to pass, it would spice things up nicely as you say

The fastest Ferrari will be .5 seconds down from the Merc pole Saturday. Verstappen to split the two Mercs. This weekend will be the first time we see Albon head to head with Verstappen.

Race pace will be further off for them I'm fearing. Looking forward to seeing Alex v. Max, was thinking the same. Want to see two McLarens in the points at least. Upgraded Alfa is a pleasant sight on an off note.

Ferrari has made a major turn around and with that caped new nose, that car is a monster now and will beat all others into submission. This is the car they had in winter testing. The domination starts now.

Quali Prediction:
1. LEC
2. HAM
3. VET

Race Prediction:
1. LEC
2. HAM
3. BOT

Fatal attraction between Verstappen and Vettel again in the race and they come together.

I don´t see that superior qualify mode this season as Mercedes always improves more from Q2 to Q3, unlike it happened last season.

I would be OK if Albon jumps Bottas, that should be his target. Verstappen is beyond his reach for now
