Ok nice video.
It is clear that the Ferrari is winning on traction out of corners almost exclusively and it is not necessarily a downforce related thing as people might think. Every slow corner you see LeClerc on the throttle earlier with the car actually carrying itself through without under-steer. Look how calm his inputs are during this too! Great Work by Ferrari on the set-up. Differential, suspension and tyre pressures most likely. I think they will be back to normal form on a medium speed circuit though.
Funny, to me it looks like Leclerc is gaining a lot under braking and in the straights. Most corners Hamilton is faster, but can't overcome the Ferrari grunt in the straights.
Leclerc seems to be truly exceptional under braking. I would love to see a Leclerc vs Vettel comparison.
I do not understand these interpretations. For me one thing is obvious: Looking at turn 3 and 5 Hamilton does not have his tires on temp in the last Q3 run. Better than in his first attempt, where Ham played games on the outlap again, but you can clearly see the car understeering in turn 3 and oversteering out of turn 5. Completely different behavior than in any further corner, that is where 0.2sec came from. With a bit more attack in the Empress section it could have easily been a Hamilton pole.
Same by the way for Vettel. He also lost S1 in turn 3. He then overdid two further corner, but the damage to loose against Leclerc was done already in turn 3. Looking at the approach to the final run he was very slow...no idea why.
Very interesting is the advantage at St Andrews (before turn 10): I watched part of FP3 between turn 8 and 9 and the Ferraris and Haas (not 100% sure about Sauber) were the only ones that charged the car before turn 9.It seems to me they take a bit of charging there to deploy more towards the next short straight.
